There are so many things I want to say about this experience and not enough space to describe it - so I’ve decided to add this to one of my podcast episode.

Road tripping back to Canada from Kentucky’s Beam Conference was about 5.5 hrs. I feel I won the lottery hanging out with Dr. Don, but what you don’t know is I’ve been a bug in his ear forever! Since the days when blending class was only offered once a year. To finally be here, the stories, Hiram Walkers true beginnings and influence in the making of Canada, the art of blending, the true pirates of the sea rum runners of prohibition…. Where do we even begin? We begin at the start.

The whisky and science community continue to fuel my love for this industry in spite of all my own barriers to entry and roadblocks. My journey continues to evolve and I am more in love with it today.

Today’s the day! We end our whisky and dumplings series but not without two welcome cocktails with !!
Thank you our National Brand Ambassador for supporting this incredible project to highlight food and whisky!!
host has brought together a community of chefs in support of great cause to raise money for HK Red Cross. I’ve come along and tasted my way through these dumplings and whiskies.

Compass Box Orchard House paired with Lo Mai G*i (steamed sticky rice in lotus leaf)

Lo Mai G*i is a Cantonese dim sum staple 🤤 If you get a chance to try it, drop me a comment and lmk your thoughts 💕

and you gotta give this a try!! Hands down one of my fav pairings.

Pt 7: Whisky & Dumplings

is making Momo’s!! A traditional Tibetan dish that gained popularity in the 1960s across Northern India. Chef Tushar, owner of .kavita changes up the recipe for a vegetarian dumpling. The brightness of these vegetables compliments perfectly with Glenfiddich 15yr Solera Reserve. They’re both bright and light whiskies, with the whisky balancing the salts and oils while the crunch of the vegetables add texture to the mouthfeel. Drool worthy!!!

I am thoroughly impressed by all the pairings.
But we can’t leave out dessert. Check our last video on pairing a pastry with whisky!

PT 5: Whisky & Dumplings
An absolute delight to discover this dim sum pairing with a legendary and international Sommelier, and founder of

This pairing is out of this world! The lotus leaf aromas paired with Compass Box Orchard House is out of this world! What a sensory and gastronomical experience and pairing. You HAVE TO try this combo!!

Orchard House blended whisky was designed for bartenders but I gotta say, this takes top spot for me! Don’t miss pairing at Dumplings & Whisky tomorrow (March 1, 4 to 8 at the Skript)
