We lived it | Let’s Discuss!

We lived it.
We watched it happen in real time.
The changes. The contradictions. The pressure.

So if you can live through everything since COVID
and still believe everything the media tells you without questioning it…
that’s not awareness. That’s conditioning.

After all we’ve experienced,
if you still accept every headline as truth,
I don’t know how anyone reaches you.

This is also why supporting small businesses matters now more than ever.
Not corporations.
Not billion-dollar brands.
But real people trying to survive and build something in hard times.

And support doesn’t always mean money.
It can be a share.
A like.
A comment.
A referral.
A kind word.

We get through times like this by thinking for ourselves
and supporting each other.

Whether you have a small business or not, feeling supported goes a long way | Let’s Discuss!

Firstly, I always go above and beyond to show support where I can. It’s literally 🆓 online (did you know that?)

I can’t financially support every single business I know all at once…
but over time, when I need something you offer, I absolutely will.

One thing about me that everyone can know is this:
for over a decade, I’ve been pushing for community effort and mutual support — not for myself, but for everyone.

You see me on your pages because I genuinely care. You see me pop up at your events because I genuinely care. I show up, I like, I comment, I engage — not as a stalker, but as someone who actually gives a damn about what’s happening in your life. I enjoy watching your passion simply because you’re passionate about it. Where others see competition, I see collaboration.

That’s what support looks like.
Not loud.
Not performative.
Just supportive.
Not selective. Just supportive.

Think about soul food… how it’s made and what’s traditionally in it.
A lot of it used pork — ribs, neck bones, ham bone, scraps.

Those cuts were considered worthless.
Enslaved Black people were given ribs, collards, neck bones because they were seen as trash — food that “couldn’t do much” and “had no real nutrition.”

Until they smelled that meat hit the 🔥🔥

Soul food was born from the soul.
From creativity.
From survival.
From turning scraps into nourishment.

It came from invention, not poverty.
From wisdom, not lack.

And remember…
doesn’t start at slavery.
Have you ever stopped to ask yourself:
What was happening before? 🤔

Ohhh this is perfect for a fake-out viral moment 😈❄️
Here’s a punchy, dramatic, scroll-stopping caption:

🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨
Oh my gosh… did they just BREAK my car window?! 😳
I asked them to clear the ice and now it looks like a crime scene out here 💀
Tell me… window shattered or just satisfying ice smash? 👀
Kids + winter = pure chaos.

💰 They gave me a raise… but why do I still feel broke? | Let’s Discuss!

Let’s talk about it because math doesn’t care about feelings and making things make sense (cents) is my love language.

If you get a 3% raise but inflation is 3%…
👉 congrats, you just ran in place. 🏃

If you get a 2% raise and inflation is 5%…
👉 you actually took a pay cut with extra steps. 🏃🏽‍♀️

If you get a 7% raise and inflation is 4%…
👉 okayyy now we’re talking, you’re finally ahead. See you next year! 🏃‍♂️

This is why so many of us are out here saying:
“I make more money than I used to… so why does life feel harder?”

Because:
💵 Nominal income = the number on your check
🛒 Real income = what that check can actually buy

And groceries, rent, gas, and bills are all out here acting feral.

A raise only matters if it beats:
📈 inflation
🏠 rent hikes
🥦 grocery prices
🚗 fuel & transportation

Otherwise… you’re just sprinting on a treadmill that keeps speeding up. 🏃‍♀️💨

So when someone says “at least you got a raise,”
the real question is:
Did it actually beat inflation?

Sometimes a bubble tea run is more than just a drink… it’s a whole vibe. | Let’s Discuss!

We stopped by Presotea in Windsor and honestly, it’s one of those places where you walk in expecting very little — and somehow walk out feeling like your expectations were quietly exceeded.

It’s super spacious in there, which sounds small but actually matters a lot. There’s room to breathe, room to exist, and room for kids to be kids without feeling like you’re in everyone’s way. We need more places like that.

The kids love it, and for them it’s a special treat. My daughter is autistic and every time we go, she takes her time reading the menu like it’s brand new… even though she ends up ordering the exact same drink anyway 😂
And honestly? I love that she gets the space and time to do that without feeling rushed.

Sometimes it’s not about the drink at all — it’s about finding places that feel safe, easy, and simple for your family to be in.
