Well that is a wrap for the 2026 4H Pro Show. The kids finished off the weekend today with a championship tug o war win.
Lots of fun.
Lots of laughs.
Lots of memories.

Day two has come to an end. On top of this morning’s post of accomplishments the kids tug o war team won both their pulls, Daphne was second in her intermediate angus heifer class which put her in the overall angus champion class. Max was third in the intermediate angus heifer class. Daphne also was third in judging build f blocks and fifth in goat judging.

Day two of pro show.
Daphne’s life skill project received a third in the class. She did her goat judging this morning then in the ring for replacement yearly goat confirmation where she placed first overall and earned a spot in the meat goat champion class where she came out reserve grand champion.
She has building blocks judging, tug o war and angus confirmation this afternoon.
Max has tug o war and angus confirmation this afternoon.

This was Max’s summer. Clear skies ahead until he was ready to bale then the skies darkened and opened up. Poor fellow couldn’t catch a break.

Day 2 of the Maritime Angus Association Junior by Field Day and Show concludes the weekend. The kids showed their heifers today. Daphne was first in heat for showmanship which allowed her to move into the champion showperson for intermediates. She showed well in her conformation heat. Max had a tough heat and was up against some great show people in his senior showmanship heat and was third in his confirmation heat. What a great group of kids and families to spend the weekend with. Finished the day with a BBQ lunch

Day 1 of the Maritime Angus Association is in the books. The kids got to try AI on a few uteruses, always an opportunity to judge some cattle, a tour of a few farms between here and Canning, and ended the day with a banquet. I tried my hand at treat making for the kids goodie bags, cooked 35lbs or prime rib and served 75 people a supper of prime rib , pulled pork, ribs, wings, salads, and desserts. Missed a picture of desserts before they are mostly gone!!
Tomorrow is show day.
