Harvest is close enough that we're already checking the equipment.

This one's a bird deterrent, as the grapes sweeten up in the weeks before picking, the vineyard gets popular with more than just us. It runs quietly in the background so more of the fruit makes it to the press instead of into a very happy flock of birds.

Warm days, cool nights, exactly what these white grapes want before we bring them in. Every cluster gets checked by hand; some years it's all patience, some years it's a race with the weather.

Plot twist: these grapes have no idea they're about to become your favourite bottle. Still green, still hanging heavy in the August sun, a few steps from the patio where you'll eventually be sipping the finished product.

Most guests walk right past this view on their way to a table, don't be most guests. Worth the drive, before the leaves even think about turning.
