The Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada issued 94 Calls to Action in 2015 to redress the legacy of Indian residential schools and advance Canadian reconciliation.

The recommendations are divided into two main categories:
1. Legacy (spanning child welfare, education, language/culture, health, and justice) and
2. Reconciliation (spanning government responsibilities, the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, equity in the legal system, youth programs, and public education).
• Child Welfare (Calls 1–5): Focuses on reducing the number of Indigenous children in foster care, providing adequate resources to keep families together, and ensuring proper training for social workers.
• Education (Calls 6–12): Calls for curriculum reform to teach residential school history, treaty rights, and Indigenous contributions, alongside funding for Indigenous education.
• Language and Culture (Calls 13–17): Acknowledges Indigenous languages as a fundamental right and supports language revitalization laws and funding.
• Health (Calls 18–24): Aims to address the distinct health gaps and systemic inequalities faced by Indigenous communities.
• Justice (Calls 25–42): Seeks to eliminate the overrepresentation of Indigenous people in custody and reform the legal and policing systems.
