What is exciting to see from the recent visit to the World Simmental Fleckvieh Federation in Czechia is the selection from larger farms of top geentics to supply excellent breeding sires!

Tsjechië is belangrijk voor Fleckvieh. De Fleckvieh koeien in dit land lopen op de grootste bedrijven (van 200 tot ruim 1000 koeien/bedrijf) en produceren onder zeer diverse omstandigheden tot 11.585kg melk/bedrijf.

𝗩𝗦 𝗹𝗮𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝘁 𝘇𝗶𝗲𝗻: 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲 𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝗱𝗲 𝗸𝗼𝗲

In de Verenigde Staten komt inmiddels ongeveer 20% van het inkomen van melkveebedrijven uit rundvlees. Holstein kruisingskalveren en afgevoerde melkkoeien zorgen daar voor een belangrijke tweede inkomstenstroom. En het biedt een extra financiële buffer bij lage melkprijzen.

Deze ontwikkeling sluit goed aan bij het doel van Fleckvieh bedrijven. Ook intensieve Fleckvieh bedrijven realiseren melkproducties van 10.000 liter en meer. Net als Holstein. Maar Fleckvieh biedt meer. Fleckvieh is wereldwijd het grootste kruisingsras op Holstein. Want met Fleckvieh blijft de melkproductie op niveau terwijl vruchtbaarheid en uiergezondheid verbeteren en de waarde van stierkalveren en slachtkoeien toeneemt. Daarmee draait het niet alleen om liters melk, maar om de totale economische waarde van de koe.

De Amerikaanse melkveehouderij onderstreept de kracht van het Fleckvieh-principe: meer rendement uit dezelfde koe door melk én vlees te benutten.

What performance - true Fleckvieh at work !

𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗼

Here you see Franz Leitner's magnificent farm collection, from left to right: cow no. 103, a 5th-calf Fleckvieh who produced 10,241 kg of milk in her fourth lactation with a calving interval of just 367 days. Next to her is a 3rd-calf Fleckvieh who reached 9,581 kg of milk in her second lactation, also with an ideal calving interval of 365 days. On the right stands a promising heifer that produces an average of 34 kg of milk per day over the first 100 days.

These are all cows that owner Franz Leitner is rightly proud of. They now graze day and night on an Alpine meadow, ten kilometers from the farm, at an altitude of 1,200 meters. For Franz, that choice is self-evident: "It costs me 1,500 kg of milk per cow per year, but that is simply the way it is. And we are happy to pay for it."

A statement that aptly summarizes the Fleckvieh philosophy of this Bavarian farmer: not always maximum production, but also respect for animals, nature, and a sustainable way of farming.

Lele wurde am 11. April 2013 bei Reiterer Florian, Moar zu Gassen in Hafling, geboren. Die Fleckviehkuh befindet sich aktuell in ihrer 9. Laktation und hat eine Lebensleistung von 100.546 Kilogramm Milch erreicht (Stand Mitte Juli). Ihre Höchstleistung von 10.905 kg Milch erreichte sie in ihrer siebten Laktation. Die Raffzahn x Hades - Tochter kalbte insgesamt neun Mal ab, wobei zwei ihrer Nachkommen weiblich waren. Beide dieser Kuhkälber, Lucy und Libelle, stehen noch im Züchterstall. Lele wurde mit Rahmen 87, Bemuskelung 84, Fundament 83 und Euter 87 bewertet.😊
