Harold has another community question for residents today.

As part of his campaign for City Councillor in Mynarski, Harold Brazil is asking whether the City should explore converting the St. John’s Park wading pool into a modern splash pad that could potentially provide families with more consistent access.

He isn't presenting this as an approved project. He wants to hear from residents first and then look at what is possible, what it would cost and how it could operate.

Harold grew up in Winnipeg's North End and believes stronger neighbourhoods also mean investing in places for children and families.

Harold Brazil and his son had a great time at the Manitoba Filipino Street Festival today.

They spent time meeting people, enjoying the entertainment and celebrating Filipino culture. One of the highlights was an impressive martial arts performance.

If you haven't visited the festival yet, it's a great community and family event and definitely worth checking out.

Thank you to the organizers, volunteers and performers who have helped make the festival possible.

Harold is heading to Northern Ontario this morning to help a northern community and will return to Winnipeg Friday.

The campaign doesn't stop while he's away. Harold will continue listening to residents, discussing community issues and sharing where he stands on the challenges facing Mynarski.

One of those major issues is the future of the Arlington Bridge.

When Harold returns Friday, he'll be discussing Arlington as part of his roads, infrastructure and transit platform priority, including connectivity across the rail yards, emergency access, replacement planning and the questions surrounding the Province's proposed rail-relocation study.

Sharing this very personal message from Harold Brazil, founder of Mr. Bones Pizza and candidate for City Councillor in Mynarski.

Today Harold is speaking about addiction, mental health, treatment and recovery, and about his daughter Mandy.

Mandy struggled with addiction and ultimately passed away from cancer. Her addiction played a major role in preventing her from receiving the treatment and care she needed when she needed it most.

For Harold, this is much more than a campaign issue. Losing his daughter changed his life and is one of the reasons he is so committed to advocating for treatment, recovery, mental-health care and better support for families affected by addiction.

His message is simple:

Saving lives matters.
Treatment matters.
Recovery must remain the goal.

Harold believes we need compassion for people struggling with addiction, accountability for those knowingly bringing deadly drugs into our communities, and a system that gives people a real opportunity to recover.

This one is personal.
