So the next time Canadian beans hit our plate, remember, there’s a real family, farm, and story behind them. 🍁

Fibre gets talked about a LOT… but what exactly is it? 🤔

Well, fibre is a type of carbohydrate found in plant foods including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds and... you guessed it... beans!

A ½ cup serving of Canadian beans* contains 8.7 g of fibre, and are an easy ingredient to work into everything from salads and pasta to tacos, soups and more.

Before viral recipes. Before food blogs. Before anyone was photographing their lunch…

There were pinto beans. 🫘

These speckled beans date back to 3,000 BC, and they've managed to stay relevant for a pretty simple reason: they're ridiculously easy to add to all kinds of meals. Tacos, burritos, quesadillas, huevos rancheros, fajitas, you name it, pinto's in it!

Today, you'll find Canadian-grown pintos coming from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario.

Thousands of years on the menu? That’s some serious staying power! https://www.lovecanadianbeans.ca/types-of-beans -beans

Creamy. Crispy. Mashed. Blended. Baked. Tossed into breakfast. Served to friends. Hidden in desert. Sounds like beans have been seriously underestimated!

Not only are they nutritious, affordable, and easy to have on hand, they are grown by Canadian farmers! 🍁 If you ask us, that’s a pretty solid case for opening a can and trying something new.
