Hnatiuk Gardens, a third-generation market gardening farm located in East St Paul, is introducing a CSA (community-supported agriculture) program for the summer of 2014. You'll get freshly picked bouquet of local produce once a week, support sustainable, spray-free farming practices, as well as local growers. Your CSA package will vary through the summer, as different produce comes in and out of s
eason. But here's what we're growing: onions, potatoes, peas, beans, corn, cucumber, garlic, beets, cabbage, tomatoes, radish, lettuce, zucchini, kale, parsley, chives, oregano, cilantro, basil, watermelon, cantelope, and some pumpkins for Thanksgiving. How to sign up:
Make cheque payable to "Hnatiuk Gardens" before April 30. There are a limited number of shares available, so sign up soon. First come, first serve! How much is it? A full CSA share (good for a family of 4 or if you LOVE fresh veggies!) is $400. A half-CSA share, good for couples or smaller households, is $250. You can pick them up at one of two locations, at Hnatiuk Gardens, or if you're in the City, Osborne Village. Package pickup will be on Thursdays, between 4 and 7pm, starting July 10, for 12 weeks, with a Thanksgiving package on October 16. Your CSA will be picked the same day as pickup, every Thursday, fresh off of the field. For more info:
