On my last video, I wanted to try the trend of talking about something while doing something else… so I made a video while making my coffee 😆

I posted it, and then I noticed all the little mistakes. My first thought? “I should probably delete it.”

But then I realized… this is exactly why so many people never start. They want to know how to do it perfectly before starting, to feel ready before taking the first step, and avoid making mistakes in front of everyone.

But we don’t get better by waiting, we get better by doing.

So yes, there were mistakes in my video. And yes, I posted it anyway. Because if we are waiting until we feel ready to start that business, create that content, apply for that opportunity, we may never do it🙌🏻

Being part of the Food Venture Accelerator 2026 was another step in my journey of learning, growing, and building Dominican Flavours with intention. So grateful for this opportunity thanks to FoodBeverageManitoba

But beyond the recognition, what I value most is everything I learned along the way. There are so many things people don’t see behind a business. Community, learning, showing up, wearing many hats, working when we are tired and other parts of the iceberg that only our family knows.

Building a food brand is not just about creating great flavours. It’s about constantly learning, improving, and making sure we’re giving our customers the best experience we can.

I’m proud of this moment, but even more excited about what we are taking from it into the next chapter of Dominican Flavours.
