I got a little carried away with incubating eggs last spring. I started with some Easter egger eggs, but then I got two dozen heritage chicken eggs a week later. Since they wouldn't keep until the first batch hatched, I decided to buy a new incubator and fill it up with some of my own eggs while I was at it. Before I knew it, I was overwhelmed with chicks and had to build new coops to house them all. I'm still dealing with the aftermath, and I promised myself I wouldn't incubate any chickens this year.

But…

A friend asked me today if they could get some chicks! That’s a pass to plug in the incubator right??

Three down, one left to go. We received a wonderful surprise upon our return home, as Mabel had given birth to this beau...

Three down, one left to go. We received a wonderful surprise upon our return home, as Mabel had given birth to this beautiful little bull calf today. A name has not been chosen for the calf yet, as Aubrey will decide on one and let us know in the morning.
