With the conclusion of our 150th anniversary, we want to take this moment to express our gratitude to everyone who came out to our open house. Thank you Ernie Hardeman, our local MPP for recognizing our milestone. A big appreciation goes to our loyal customers who have supported the Jakeman family through all these years.

For nearly 150 years, Jakeman's Maple Products has been synonymous with authentic Canadian maple syrup. Founded in 1876 by George and Betsy Anne Jakeman, the family-owned company has built its reputation on producing premium 100 per cent pure maple syrup by blending generations of craftsmanship with modern food production.

In 1965, fourth-generation brothers Bob and Bruce Jakeman helped expand the market for Ontario maple syrup, and today the business is led by fifth-generation family members Chad, Devin and Kim Jakeman, alongside their mother, Mary.

What began as a small maple operation has grown into one of Canada's best-known maple syrup brands-without losing sight of its commitment to quality, sustainability and the communities that have supported it for generations.

We are celebrating our 150th year and we want to invite you to celebrate with us! We’re having an Open House Friday, August 7th, between 1:30pm-4:30pm.

We’ll be serving up some burgers and hot dogs as well as some yummy maple treats. We’ll have some games for the kids including a giant pinata in the shape of our famous bottle of syrup.

This is a free event, rain or shine. Our gift shop and museum will be open for purchases. There will be 10% off all Maple Products!

Also, have you heard we have Shaw’s Ice Cream in store for purchase? Drop in for a delicious treat and enjoy the beautiful Trillium Woods!

During our partnership with the Sweaburg Lions Club at our annual Pancake House, we raised $16,222.71 for the club which will go straight back into our community.

These funds will go toward improvements to parks throughout the village, grants for community members, and many other local initiatives.

This incredible achievement would not have been possible without the generous support of local businesses, including Tremblett's Independent, which supplied the juice, plates, and utensils; Norpac, which generously provided the sausages; and Kintore Coffee, which supplied the coffee.

Most of all, we couldn't have done it without this amazing community, whose enthusiasm, generosity, and support made this event such a tremendous success.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, and supported us. We truly appreciate your generosity and look forward to seeing you at next year's event!
