Elk steak & risotto! 5 stars ⭐️

Yes…this page is focused mainly on plant based foods, vegan & vegetarian recipes…

…but I felt the need to incorporate a little more meat in my diet this winter & as I approach my workouts w heavier weights, Hiit & of course yoga, my body has been telling me what it needs.

Your bodys needs will shift throughout the year because of the seasons. And depending on your body’s constitutional make up or from an Ayurvedic approach, what Doshas you are, can help you align more a proper nutritional diet.

This steak was prepared in a Dutch Oven.

Normally wild game would require a day or 2 of marinating but not with a Dutch oven!

Steak seasoning & wild game seasoning
+ tad bit of Bbq sauce & water just to assist in “steaming” to tenderize the meat quick. Garlic and tamari sauce.

Then all the juices marinate & the cast iron distributes the heat evenly.

Cooked to perfection!

The risotto had leeks, mushrooms, roasted tomatoes, parmesan, white wine vinegar & spinach.

This myth keeps us buying fast food and packaged junk foods for convenience. The result — chronic disease, disability, and dependency on piles of pills. Hardly convenient or cheap.

Yes, processed food provides cheap calories. However, if you calculate the value of food based on nutrient density, not calories, then a bag of Cheetos would cost a fortune, and beans or collard greens or even a grass fed steak would be cheap. There are no nutrients in Cheetos, but an abundance of vitamins, minerals, fiber, protein, and phytonutrients in whole plant and animal foods.

One day it will be significantly cheaper to eat well, but it is still possible to eat a real food diet on a budget.

If you stick to vegetables, fruits, beans, whole grains, and some high‐quality animal foods, you’ll save money. Processed and packaged foods will cost you more in the long run in terms of poor health and medical bills.

Take the time to plan ahead your meals and track your spending habits. These two habits are underrated when it comes to saving money on food. Master five recipes that are affordable and that you can revisit every week.
