It has been a whirlwind few days around the ranch. As you know a snow storm blew through last Thursday and I will tell you, we had our work cut out for us. We are in the middle of calving when Mother Nature decided to throw this at us. With the hard work of myself and my kids we were hauling calves back and forth to the shop to warm up and back out to the mamas for two days straight, spreading feed and straw all day to keep the cows happy while telling them to calve in the straw. (Cows don’t listen well😉). There wasn’t much sleeping happening as we took turns checking though the night also. We got through it and the sun did finally come back out. In total we got about 14-15 inches of snow over 24 hours and now four days later it has all melted and you would never know the nightmare we all went through🤣🤣. I’m so very proud of how my family came together and got the work done. ❤️ Although it was a hectic few days, the moisture is great for the grass which is poking through the ground now and the baby calves all survived the great spring storm of 2026.
