A wee bit of life on the farm lately. New flowers, established perennials, and old dogs mostly. 💐

Around the farm this week. Little helpers, the hops are hopping, everything is growing (including the weeds). The snaps are beautiful, our new astrantia seems to be living up to expectations, and the field roses look…. Almost normal! The to do list never ends, I just try to stop and take in the beauty now and then. 💐 And more plants are getting shipped in this week. Time to dig more holes!

This week on the farm. SO much going on! We have our new additions (ducklings and goslings), lots of things greening up, and another episode of “this peony is not like the others”…….IYKYK. The astrantia is growing (3 varieties will be available to choose from), need to work on a way to protect the peony blooms from the looming frost, and the mock orange buds are absolutely adorable. Oh, and the dahlias survived last winters episode of “life below zero”, or whatever that was. Farming is NEVER boring. One more thing; remember the garlic scapes? We will have those again as well!

This week on the farm. Happy peonies, little helpers, transplanting, the viburnums and mock orange showing some green. The astrantia is so far looking happy. The roses are very slowly waking up. We have the first baby buds on the ranunculus. The countdown is on for our first spring harvests.

We have been a little quiet BUT have been working very hard! While the roses have been a little slow to wake up from the cold, a lot of our other favorites are popping up around the farm! Peonies looking great, hops have shown their faces, raspberries have woken up, and even some of our trial plants are growing on well!
There’s always so much to do to prep the roses for their spring debut. We also have added an additional color this year we think will be popular for fall. So we have been very busy planting, mulching, pruning and all the other spring things!

Things are popping up green over here! Spring and early summer will lovely! We can’t wait to grow local flowers through again this year. If you need us in the meantime,time we will be digging more holes for more roses and more really cool shrubs! And putting finished touches our a new duck house! 💐💚
