✨ The Chronos Wine Journey continues.

Through this journey, we share the stories of producers from the Chronos Wine selection.
Wineries we believe in, people we know, places that shape our way of understanding wine.

Today, we’re in Franciacorta, Italy.

Not the Franciacorta you expect.
This is 1701.

Founded in 2011 by Silvia and Federico Stefini, 1701 is not just a winery, it’s a vision.
Set on 11 hectares of morainic soils, it was the first Franciacorta to be fully certified biodynamic.

No shortcuts.
No adjustments.
No dosage.

Just grapes, time and precision.

Metodo Classico, stripped back to its core.

Long lees ageing.
No liqueur d’expédition.
No make-up.

The wines are direct.
Clean.
Vibrant with energy.

Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, shaped by mineral soils, expressed without filters.

Around 80k bottles per year.
Artisanal scale, clear identity.

1701 doesn’t try to fit Franciacorta.
It redefines it.

A free spirit, grounded in place.

This is exactly why 1701 is part of Chronos.

Through this journey, we share the stories of producers from the Chronos Wine selection.
Wineries we believe in, people we know, places that shape our way of understanding wine.

Today, we’re in Barbaresco, Langhe, Italy.

Some wineries feel like places.
Others feel like homes.

Cascina delle Rose is one of them.

In Tre Stelle, at the highest part of Barbaresco, everything moves with a different rhythm.
Slower, quieter, more attentive.

Today the estate is run by the Sobrino brothers, Riccardo and Davide, carrying forward a family vision rooted in respect and continuity.

The approach is simple.
Careful farming, minimal intervention, patience in the cellar.

The wines follow.

Nebbiolo here is not about power.
It is about detail.

Floral, precise, deeply elegant.
Wines that unfold gently, revealing themselves over time.

At the heart lies Barbaresco Tre Stelle, a wine of finesse and clarity.
Alongside it, Rio Sordo, deeper and more structured, and Marcorino, more lifted and nuanced, complete the picture of the estate.

Small scale, thoughtful work, a strong sense of place.

A Barbaresco that doesn’t need to raise its voice.

This is exactly why Cascina delle Rose is part of Chronos.

Wineries we believe in, people we know, places that shape our way of understanding wine.

Today, we’re in Chablis, Burgundy.

There is something profoundly authentic about Château de Béru.

Rooted in history, yet fully alive in the present.

At the heart of the estate are Athénaïs de Béru and Antoine, custodians of a château whose vineyards rest on ancient Kimmeridgian limestone, the very backbone of Chablis.
Here, the soil is not a detail. It is the foundation.

Around fifteen hectares are farmed biodynamically with rigor and humility.
No shortcuts. No cosmetic corrections.
Indigenous fermentations, minimal sulphur, patient élevage.

The wines are not constructed.
They are revealed.

Saline, vibrant, deeply mineral. 🧂
They carry tension and clarity, yet always remain alive.
They speak of Chablis without excess, without noise.

At the core of the domaine lies Clos Béru, the historic monopole vineyard surrounding the château itself.
Entirely owned by the estate, it represents the purest expression of their vision.
Here, Chardonnay reaches remarkable precision and depth, defining the identity of Béru at its most complete.

In today’s Chablis landscape, Béru stands as a quiet point of reference.
Not for trends, but for integrity.

Old walls. Living soils.
A Burgundy both grounded and luminous.

This is exactly why Château de Béru is part of Chronos.

Wait. One more thing 😉

Beyond Burgundy, Antoine has launched Mare Nostrum, born in his native Marseillan, in Occitanie, south of Montpellier, where he grew up facing the Mediterranean.
As often happens to those raised by the sea, there is a natural pull toward the horizon.
From southern France, the project unfolds across Spain, Italy, Slovenia and Greece, always along vineyards that look toward the sea, connected by wind, salt and light.

The Mare Nostrum wines are on their way. We’ll tell you more very soon.

Today, we’re in Montalcino, Tuscany. 🌿✨

There are many ways to interpret Sangiovese.
And then there is Stella di Campalto.

Founded in 1992 by Stella, and for some years now led alongside her daughter Beatrice, the estate carries a distinctly feminine imprint, in leadership, in sensitivity, in style.
A quiet strength. A steady hand. A clear vision.

Here, elegance is not pursued.
It is inherent.

Each vineyard is farmed and vinified separately.
Each parcel bottled on its own.
Each wine released only when Stella feels it has reached its moment, never rushed by regulation, never dictated by the calendar.

Time is not managed.
It is respected. ⏳

The Sangiovese of Stella di Campalto moves with rare grace.
Structured yet weightless.
Precise yet fluid.
Deep without heaviness.

It does not seek attention.
It commands it quietly.

The vineyards are intimate.
The selections meticulous.
The bottles find their way carefully, where attention and understanding are part of the ritual.

Over the past few years, Chronos has had the privilege of working closely with Stella and Beatrice, in a relationship built on trust, dialogue and shared values.

Stella di Campalto is not about scale.
It is about refinement.

A luminous expression of Montalcino.
Delicate. Exacting. Unmistakably singular. 💎

This is exactly why Stella di Campalto is part of Chronos.

Today, we’re in La Morra, Langhe, Italy. 💚

This is Maffrei.

A project born from two brothers, Andrea and Stefano.
At the beginning they were 8000 km apart, Stefano in Brazil, Andrea in La Morra.
Different continents, same roots.

Today reunited in Langhe, building something entirely their own, day by day, vine by vine.

Young, focused, restless.
A new energy running through the hills of Barolo.

Everything revolves around Nebbiolo, Dolcetto and a few white varieties, farmed sustainably with low yields and a long term clear vision.
Experimentation in the cellar, but always grounded in respect for place and identity.

And then, the moment we had been waiting for.

After years of anticipation, their first Barolo is finally arriving.
Barolo Torriglione 2022, only 2’580 bottles.
A debut shaped by one of the most challenging vintages of the decade.
Structured yet vibrant, precise yet alive.
A Barolo that feels both rooted and forward looking.

But Andrea and Stefano don’t stand still.

Last year the brothers crossed borders to collaborate with Tino Kuban of Maison Glandien in France.
Together they harvested Pinot Noir in the vineyard La Leux, exchanging grapes, ideas and perspectives.

The result was La Cross Cuvée, a Pinot Noir vinified in Italy at Maffrei’s cellar, interpreted through the shared vision of Andrea and Stefano.
A true dialogue between territories.

And this year, another exciting collaboration is taking shape, once again with a remarkable vigneron from France.
We can’t reveal everything just yet, but stay tuned.

The Maffrei project is constantly evolving.
Studying, growing, improving, confronting new ideas.
Never static, always moving.

This is exactly why Maffrei is part of Chronos.

Today, we’re in Champagne, France. 🍾✨

Landing in a more intimate corner of Champagne, shaped by a new generation of vignerons working with focus, personality and a strong sense of identity.

Here, Alexis Limar is quickly becoming one of the young vignerons to watch in Champagne.
The wines speak clearly, with confidence and precision.

Around 3 hectares of vineyards, roughly 5,000 bottles per year.
Small production, strong identity.

At the core of the project is a very natural and respectful approach to their precious soils 🌱
Careful farming, spontaneous fermentations and very low sulphur allow the wines to remain free, vibrant and alive, full of energy and tension.

The style is direct and vibrant.
Fresh, precise Champagnes with a clean, honest expression of place 🥂
Wines that grow through identity, detail and time.

And behind all this, people truly worth knowing.
Great people, passionate growers and now, just days ago, new parents.
Warmest congratulations to Jeanne and Alexis. 🤍👶✨

Today, we head to Alsace, France. 🌿🍇

Landing in Alsace, in a patchwork of soils where the land speaks louder than labels and classifications.
Here, Soil Therapy puts the earth, quite literally, at the centre of everything.

Founded in 2017 by Thomas Larmoyer, owner and driving force behind the project, Soil Therapy is a young and intuitive vision built on listening rather than imposing.
No shortcuts, no recipes, just patience, sensitivity and deep respect for living soils.

Working with organically and biodynamically farmed vineyards across the region, Thomas follows the grapes closely from vineyard to cellar.
Spontaneous fermentations, minimal intervention and long ageing allow each parcel and each soil to express itself freely and honestly.

The wines are vibrant, mineral and alive, full of tension and freshness.
From Riesling to Sylvaner and beyond, every cuvée feels like a clear snapshot of place, raw but precise, never obvious, always expressive.

A contemporary Alsace, open, curious and deeply terroir-driven.
Wines that feel alive in the glass and invite you to slow down and listen.

This is exactly why Soil Therapy is part of Chronos.

Today, we head to Tuscany, Italy. 🌞🍃

Landing in Montalcino, on one of its wildest and highest edges.
A raw and untamed corner of the appellation, shaped by altitude, wind and light, where nature sets the pace and nothing comes easy ⛰️

Here, Podere Le Ripi is not just a winery, it is a vision.
A place where biodynamics are a true belief, not a trend, and where every decision is driven by awareness, curiosity and a deep sense of responsibility toward the future 🌱

This is a young, bold and tightly knit team, open to dialogue, confrontation and the world beyond Montalcino.
A Montalcino that does not close in on itself, but questions, evolves and dares 🌍⚡️

At the heart of it all stands Sebastian Nasello, winemaker and co-owner, visionary and dear friend.
What he is building here is radical and precise, emotional and rigorous at the same time, supported by a passionate team and guided by an idea of wine that values truth over comfort, energy over convention.

Here, Sangiovese shows its full potential.
It has structure, as it should, yet it remains vertical, vibrant and alive, shaped by limestone soils, altitude and patience, expressing freshness, tension and depth rather than power ⚡️

Love it or question it, Podere Le Ripi is today a turning point for Montalcino, for its producers and for those who truly care about the future of Sangiovese. 🫶

This is where Montalcino’s present takes shape, and the future quietly starts moving.

This is exactly why Podere Le Ripi is part of Chronos.

Today, we head to Champagne, France. 🍾✨

Landing in Cuisles, in the heart of the Vallée de la Marne, a small village shaped by deep green illite clay, sand and limestone 🌱🪨
A terroir that gives birth to Champagnes full of tension, freshness and mineral energy.

Here, Champagne André Heucq lives as a truly artisanal family estate
Working around 5 hectares of vineyards, with an annual production of around 40k bottles spread across several distinct cuvées, each one shaped by its own parcel, its own rhythm, its own voice.

This is where the Heucq family story unfolds.
Founded in 1936 and today led by Alexandre and F***y, the domaine carries forward four generations of hands on work, patience and deep respect for nature 🍃

From the very beginning, Meunier has been the beating heart of the estate 💚
A variety that here shows a rare side of itself, vertical, precise, mineral and vibrant, giving Champagnes that are fresh, crunchy and full of character ⚡️

The production remains small, focused and deeply personal.
Organic farming, biodynamic principles, spontaneous fermentations and minimal intervention in the cellar 🐝🍇
Everything is done to preserve energy, freshness and identity, never polish or volume.

These are Champagnes of character, mineral and incisive, vibrant and alive in the glass 🥂
Wines that invite you to slow down, listen and feel where they come from.

Today, we head to the Langhe, Italy. 💎

Landing in Montelupo Albese, just meters outside the Barolo boundaries, where a line on a map separates recognition from anonymity, despite sharing much of the character of nearby Serralunga d’Alba.

This is where DWNL, Drink Wines Not Labels, begins.
A project created in 2019 by Alessandro Salvano, driven by a clear vision, to put wine back at the centre, beyond labels, rules and expectations.

Nebbiolo and Dolcetto sit next to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, all vinified with the same mindset, spontaneous fermentations, no filtration, no additives, and a constant search for balance and drinkability.

After seven vintages, production now stands at around 25k bottles across six wines, still small, but no longer just a playground.

At the heart of the project stands OUTSIDE, a 100% Nebbiolo vinified according to Barolo rules, yet beyond its borders.
With the upcoming 2022 vintage, production remains deliberately tiny, around 1k bottles.
✊ A wine of protest, a light in the darkness of rigid denominations and slow bureaucracy.
A wine we truly love.

This is exactly why Alessandro Salvano and DWNL are part of Chronos.
The 2024 vintage of Nebbiolo, Langhe Rosso, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay will be released shortly, alongside a small allocation of OUTSIDE 2022.
