Chateau Cheval Blanc is managed like an orchestra. 

The vineyard is divided into 56 individual plots, each with its own identity — different soils, grape varieties, vine ages, rootstocks, exposures and drainage.

Each parcel is harvested and vinified separately. Like instruments in an orchestra, each brings something different to the final composition. 

Together, they create an apotheosis of complexity that ultimately translates into emotion.

Cheval Blanc possesses one of the greatest terroirs in the world and produces grapes of incredible quality. But you can have the greatest musicians in the world — what makes the music extraordinary is how they play together.

And just as every musical composition requires a different combination of instruments, each vintage of Cheval Blanc brings together a different selection and proportion of its 56 parcels.

Most wine legends are built over centuries. Le Pin achieved legendary status within a single generation.

The story began in 1979, when Jacques Thienpont recognized the extraordinary potential of a tiny parcel in Pomerol, marked by a solitary pine tree that would eventually give the estate its name.

From this small vineyard, only around 16 barrels — roughly 500 cases — of Le Pin are produced in a typical vintage, making its allocations among the most coveted in the world of fine wine.

The estate’s intimate scale allows it to be farmed almost like a private garden, where only the finest fruit earns its place in the final blend.

It is a story of vision, precision, uncompromising selection, and the belief that a single vineyard could rival — and ultimately stand alongside — the greatest wines on earth.
