We need your vote! 🫛🇨🇭 We’re in the running for the Clima Now Spotlight Award 2026, and it’s about much more than winning an award! Switzerland is currently deciding what the future of its agriculture should look like. The new Agricultural Policy 2030+ aims to strengthen food security, use our natural resources more efficiently, create more value for Swiss farmers and specifically encourage crops grown directly for human consumption. Obviously, we didn’t wait for politicians to do our homework: together with Swiss and German farmers, we’re building a local value chain around a crop that can be transformed into nutritious, delicious food right here in Switzerland, from our cheeses and creamery products to our sister company . Winning the Spotlight Award would give this vision more visibility and help show that there is real public support for diversifying Swiss agriculture, growing more food for people locally, and building a resilient food system from field to fork without exploiting animals. Please vote for the kind of Swiss agriculture you want to see more of 💚

You can vote for our project “The Protein of Tomorrow: Swiss Lupin from Soil to Shelf” via the link in our story. Please share it with your friends, family and fellow food-system nerds. Every vote counts! 🫛

We need your vote! 🙏 🧀

We’re super happy to share that New Roots has been selected for the Clima Now Spotlight 2026 Wall of Fame! 🥳

We’ve been working on this project for years: building a more resilient food system by growing and transforming Swiss lupins into delicious, nutritious plant-based foods. Now, we need your help to take the next step 🚀

Public voting is officially open, and your vote could help us make it to the Clima Now Spotlight Pitch Night, and give our lupin project the chance to receive funding to grow its impact!

Thank you for supporting us, and for believing, like we do, that the future of food can be local, plant-based, regenerative, fair and delicious! 🌱

We’re sorry to be the ones to inform you: summer is over. Not meteorologically, not astronomically, and for most of us not even emotionally. But cheese-wise (the only metrics that matters), it’s a wrap. You guessed why: Fondue and Raclette are officially back on the shelves! It officially means it is once again socially acceptable (and to be honest, socially preferable) to gather around a table, melt unreasonable quantities of cheese, dip things into it, scrape things onto potatoes, whatever way works for you. You can do it wearing shorts if you want, but get with the program 🫡🫕

Starting at 10am on September 19th, come celebrate our anniversary with us! Everyone is welcome and entry is free 🕺🏾🪅

Throughout the day, there’ll be food & drinks, tastings, tales of the New Roots story, stage talks, games, a kids’ corner and the opportunity to have a look behind the scenes at where all the cheesy magic happens 🧀

The stage talks start at 12:00, and if you’d like to join one of the factory tours, you’ll need to register in advance (these are currently booked up, but we might do some spontaneous ones during the day if there’s an interest!)

Basically: show up whenever you want, stay as long as you like, eat some things, learn some things, meet some people, celebrate ten years with us 🪤

📍 New Roots, Oberdiessbach
🕙 10:00–17:30
🎟️ Free & open to everyone

See you there 🪩🥳

This is your sign to try Le Gratiné if you haven’t yet (gotta stay culturally relevant… “culture” because of the cheese, get it?) 🤭🪤

What an adventure! It’s been 10 years, and we’re a little emotional. So many photos, so many memories, so many milestones… we’re taking you behind the curtain for a little sneak peek into what the past 10 years have been like. Come celebrate our birthday with us on September 19th in Oberdiessbach (Burgdorfstrasse 36), and learn more about our story, our mission and our philosophy, meet our team, visit our factory, hear great speeches, and try new exclusive products 😇

We have some very good news for anyone in Germany or Austria who enjoys fermented plant-based food (and wandering around organic supermarkets enjoying the AC): our products (and Yellow Sunshine!) are now available in Denns und BioMarkt, Denns BioMarkt Österreich, 🥳

On their shelves, you can no find: Le Gratiné…

… our Meerrettich cream cheese, and our Garlic & Herbs cream cheese 🥯

We packed our favourite film camera, filled our water bottles, and hit the trails of Creux du Van in Jura for this edition of Alpine Adventure ⛰️

This loop starts in the village of Noiraigue before climbing steadily through cool forest, where conversations slowly give way to birds singing… and slightly heavier breathing 😮‍💨

Then, without warning, the trees open up and you’re standing at the edge of one of Switzerland’s most spectacular natural landmarks: a giant limestone amphitheatre carved by glaciers, with cliffs plunging dramatically into the forest below. It’s one of those places where everyone instinctively takes a tiny step backwards after peeking over the edge 😅

The trail follows the rim, with changing views across the Jura and, on a clear day, all the way to the Alps. We also got lucky enough to spot a few ibex casually hanging out on the cliffs (we missed the marmots and chamois this time, but apparently they like to make guest appearances if you’re quiet enough!)

Obviously, we couldn’t resist stopping for a picnic right on the cliff edge. Safe to say it was one of the best lunch-with-a-view spots we’ve ever had!! 🧀

The return route loops back through peaceful alpine meadows and shady forest trails, with one final surprise: a beautiful moss-covered stone bridge that made us feel like we traveled a few centuries back in time.

Creux du Van has officially earned a permanent place on our list of favourite hikes, and we hope you go see it for yourself! 🥾

📍You’ll find the full route, plus plenty more hiking, trail running and ski touring adventures, on our Outdooractive DACH page (link in our story highlights)

July 23rd 2097

Dear Grandma,

Greetings from Switzerland! The mountains are gorgeous.

The people in the village told me they used to make cheese from cow’s milk. Apparently, they used to impregnate cows, take away their babies, and turn the milk into cheese.

I’m pretty sure they’re messing with the tourists though!

Hope you’re doing well.
Lots of love.

Your favourite grandchild
