This World Oceans Day, some of our team members share their personal connection to the ocean.

At Blueyou, that connection inspires our work every day. Through the seafood we offer, we support fishing and farming origins that restore ocean health, enhance biodiversity, empower coastal communities, and help combat climate change.

Because protecting the ocean isn't just something we talk about—it's at the heart of what we do.

Happy World Oceans Day.

🌊 Mangroves are no longer just a conservation story — they are becoming an investable climate solution.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the “Investable Mangroves & Restorative Blue Foods” session during Climate Week Zurich 2026. Together with partners, investors, scientists and ecosystem builders, we explored how regenerative aquaculture and mangrove restoration can unlock measurable impact for climate, biodiversity and coastal communities. 🌱🐟

What stood out most:
→ the growing momentum behind restorative blue economies
→ the need for cross-sector collaboration
→ and the clear signal that scalable nature-based solutions are ready for implementation and investment

We’re especially excited about the launch of the Investable Mangroves Manifesto and the conversations it sparked around scaling regenerative aquaculture to 1M hectares by 2040.

A sincere thank you to all speakers, partners and participants for contributing your perspectives, energy and ambition. The dialogue doesn’t stop here — this is only the beginning.

🌊🐟 Happy World Tuna Day! 🐟🌊

Today, we celebrate one of the most iconic – and most important – fish in our oceans: tuna. 💙
As mid-to-top predators, they help maintain the balance of marine ecosystems, feeding on smaller fish and squid while also serving as prey for sharks, billfish, and marine mammals. Because they connect multiple levels of the food web, changes in tuna populations can ripple through entire ocean systems.

Tuna are also vital for people: a healthy, nutritious source of protein – and tinned tuna is among the most climate-friendly animal protein options available. 🌍
With a global catch of around 6 million metric tons, tuna supports an industry worth about USD 50 billion each year.

The good news? 🙌
Thanks to improved management and conservation efforts, more than 95% of the world’s tuna now comes from healthy stocks!

At Blueyou, we’re going a step further:
With our newly launched Fair Trade Certified™ tuna program in the Maldives, in partnership with , we support sustainable fisheries and thriving coastal communities. 🤝
By promoting traditional, selective, and low-impact fishing methods, we’re helping build a more climate-smart future for our oceans. 🌊💙

“The Arapaima carries a story of resilience, respect for nature, and positive impact for both people and planet. It aligns perfectly with our philosophy at MONO, which celebrates the connection between food, culture, and sustainability.” Chef Ricardo Chaneton, MONO

🐟The Arapaima, one of the world’s largest freshwater fish, stands for resilience and regeneration. Once severely threatened across the Amazon Basin, its population has rebounded by up to 170% in well-managed areas – thanks to a model that empowers Indigenous communities, protects biodiversity, and safeguards the rainforest.

A fish that represents more than taste – but a vision for how responsible sourcing and culinary excellence can create real impact.

🌿🌊 Nature and aquaculture, working hand in hand.

With its Integrated Mangrove Aquaculture approach, Blueyou has developed a model that combines shrimp farming with mangrove restoration — protecting coastal ecosystems while creating sustainable livelihoods for local communities.

But we are going further: what started with shrimp is now evolving into a broader, multi-species approach. Mangrove ecosystems provide ideal habitats not only for shrimp, but also for species like milkfish 🐟, which can be responsibly farmed and harvested within the same regenerative system.

By expanding the Selva Shrimp program to include additional species, we strengthen biodiversity, diversify income sources for farmers, and increase the resilience of coastal aquaculture systems.

The photo shows farmer Mustafa, proudly holding a milkfish up to the camera — a great example of how this approach is already creating tangible results on the ground.

🌱 Have you ever thought about investing in mangroves? 🌊💡

Join us at Investable Mangroves: Unlocking the Business Case for Mangrove Restoration during Climate Week Zurich.

This session explores how mangrove restoration can unlock scalable, investable opportunities — delivering carbon storage, biodiversity, and sustainable livelihoods through regenerative aquaculture models.

🚀With a proven track record and bold ambitions, the conversation will focus on turning nature-based solutions into bankable climate action .

Hear from René Benguerel (Blueyou), Tom Kagerer (), Karime Brecailo Abib (AdvantiKA – Responsible Results), Thomas Elliott (), and Alexia Semov (Fair Carbon) — and explore how we can move from pilots to large-scale deployment 📈.

Looking back at yesterday’s inspiring B Corp Month event ✨

Organized by B Lab Switzerlanderland and hosted by Blueyou, the evening brought together purpose-driven Swiss companies to explore where impact truly happens.

René, Founder of Blueyou, shared a short insight into our work on restorative seafood 🌊🦐, followed by an interactive workshop where participants used systems thinking and the B Impact Assessment to uncover and map their visible and hidden impact. We also heard from Shirin, Co-Founder of Abhati Suisse , who shared her journey of building a B Corp company.

The evening wrapped up with great conversations, new connections, and delicious Blueyou shrimps 🍤

A great evening at the Night at the New England Aquarium in Boston as part of the Seafood Expo North America/Seafood Processing North America 🐟

It was fantastic to connect with so many inspiring people from across the seafood industry — from leading U.S. retailers to members of the Sea Pact — all committed to driving positive change.

René Benguerel and Ramón Huwiler from Blueyou were proud to present two of our Community Fishery Programs: The Fair Trade Tuna from the Maldives and the ARTESMAR Handline Tuna from the Philippines by Meliomar, and the stories behind them.

Moments like this remind us how powerful collaboration can be — and mark an exciting step forward as we continue bringing responsibly sourced seafood to the U.S. market together with partners like Fair Trade Certified USA, Envisible and ARKK Food Co. Many thanks also to Wholechain and Food Tank.

🌊 Did you know that Oceans cover 71% of the Earth — shaping our climate, sustaining life, and inspiring wonder across the globe. Yet more than 80% of the ocean remains unexplored, reminding us how much there is still to discover and protect.

💧On World Water Day, we celebrate the beauty, depth, and importance of our oceans. They are home to extraordinary biodiversity and provide livelihoods and food for millions of people worldwide.

💧At Blueyou, we are committed not only to preserving our oceans but also to actively regenerating them—through restorative fishing practices, responsible projects, and transparency throughout the entire supply chain.

Live fast. Populate much. Die young. 🐙

Octopuses live fast and don’t live long — usually up to about 5 years. They grow and reproduce quickly, which makes them less vulnerable to overfishing when fisheries are well managed.

Along the coast of the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico, traditional fishers have mastered the art of catching octopus sustainably. Using simple single-line gear, they leave egg-carrying females untouched and harvest seafood for Blueyou in balance with nature. In the nutrient-rich waters of the Yucatán continental shelf, octopus thrive on abundant prey like crabs and shellfish.

Once the fishing grounds are reached, engines are switched off and boats drift with the wind while fishing — resulting in a very low carbon footprint and making Yucatán octopus a climate-friendly seafood choice.

To recognize octopus caught by artisanal fishing communities, Blueyou runs a Fair Trade program with local cooperatives. Through Fair Trade, communities are strengthened and receive premiums that support local development projects. 🌊🐙
