Steak Tostadas with Mango Salsa and Avocado Crema, the ultimate weeknight dinner upgrade! 🌮🥩 High protein, vibrant flavors, and zero complications. Just real food that hits every time. 🥭🥑
For the carne asada:
- 1-1.5 lb flank or skirt steak
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Juice of 1 lime and 1 orange
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- Salt and pepper
For the mango salsa:
- 1 ripe mango, diced
- 1/4 red onion, finely diced
- 1 jalapeño (optional)
- Juice of 1 lime
- Handful of cilantro
- Salt
For the avocado crema:
- 1 ripe avocado
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
- Juice of 1 lime
- 1 garlic clove
- 1/2 jalapeño, diced
- Salt
To assemble: crispy tostadas, optional cotija cheese, hot honey, and extra lime.
Marinate the steak for at least 30 minutes (longer is better!), then grill or pan sear on high heat 3-5 minutes per side. Rest 5-10 minutes and slice thin. Mix all salsa ingredients and adjust to taste. Blend the crema until silky smooth, adding a splash of water if needed. Layer crispy tostadas with sliced steak, mango salsa, and a generous drizzle of avocado crema.
