But here’s the interesting part: his presence is almost more of a reassurance than a necessity. Traffic in Beijing is generally orderly, with drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians mostly following the rules and respecting one another.
Of course, there are exceptions. Some people in a hurry may weave through traffic or even run a red light — and food delivery riders are probably the most frequent offenders. 😄
Still, seeing a traffic officer calmly keeping things moving is a reminder that a well-functioning city is built not only on rules, but also on people’s willingness to follow them.
