I am Bass, the co-founder of buddynyou.com community. When I arrived in China in late 2012, I really enjoyed Shanghai’s rich night life and buzzing days. It was no where close to where I used to live before, everyday was a school day. Even if I really enjoy Ayi’s dumpling and Xinjiang buddy made bbq, I was soon missing some yummy stuffs from my native France. The few choices offered to me was buy
Chinese ersatz, or to call my mum and send me some stuffs, or to visit the imported supermarket. All the choices were costly or not very satisfying. On the job side, I was working in the food business in a comfortable position for a public listed company. If you’ve met me at that time, I was the typical arrogant Expat with condescending tone (my bad, sorry buddies!). As a responsible for China’s market, my job offered me the opportunity to work for and with Multinational Food Companies, State Owned Enterprises and Big Name in the retails. During these years in the industry, I started to realize that the system is self centered, flawed, backward and obsolete. My Chinese friend and partner Kath, also raised me to the question of Chinese food safety. Which is quite a concern to say the least (Super damn scary actually ! ). We soon realized that the only way to change the status quo, was to grab this fight as our own and create a community where our people will be at the center. So I broke my piggy bank and quit my job. Buddynyou.com: put the people at the center of the equation. Buddynyou.com ‘s mission is to improve the lives of all the one in China. Our method is simple stupid:

No matter if you are from the mainland or from the other side of the blue Planet , we are dedicated to bring you the most original, best value, best choices of imported products. We urge our community members to share, discuss and vote for products and services that they are missing the most. And we will do all we can to bring to you ASAP.
