A week from today I’ll be joining my friends at .slowbar to share some tasty brews.

My recent washed Gesha from will be on pour-over, and the first taste of this year’s washed Mejorado from Juan Peña will be on spro.

It’s a great space and a top-notch program, so I’m honored to share the bar with these fine folks.

New Release!

This my second time purchasing coffee from Frank Torres, though I’ve been aware of his work for many years. He is a uniquely talented producer - gifted not only with the wherewithal of cultivation, but also a deep understanding of the chemistry of process and a Q-Grader’s command of QC.

This coffee - washed Gesha - is for me the truest and most expressive reflection of his mastery.

This is my fifth consecutive year working with , and it’s always one of my most anticipated arrivals. Juan Peña’s washed Mejorado brings the perfect balance of fruit, dimension and structure - it is, so good.

New Release!

This honey processed Pink Bourbon from Jose Ever Muñoz was the winner of the Central Division in the 2024 Copa de Oro.

Back in December, I had the privilege of traveling to Colombia to attend and help judge the competition staged by . It was an incredible introduction to the people, the land and of course the many beautiful coffees.

This was my personal favorite (and highest scoring) throughout all three rounds. It is an absolute bounty of tropical fruit, with remarkable clarity.
