✨A NEW DISCOVERY FROM COLOMBIA! 🇨🇴🐟

We are beyond excited to announce the discovery of a new Hoplisoma species found by our team in the pristine waters of the Rio Tomo, Colombia! 🌿

🔬 Hoplisoma sp. aff. concolor “Rio Tomo” (CW217)
This stunning armored catfish was discovered in a crystal-clear tributary locally known as Caño Negro, part of the mighty Orinoco River system. What makes it truly unique? CW217 is the only Hoplisoma species living in this tributary — no H. concolor have been found there!

Expert ichthyologist Ian Fuller (CorydorasWorld.com) assigned the official code CW217 to this exceptional specimen. Although it shares similarities with Hoplisoma concolor, its distinct coloration and isolated habitat make it a completely new and consistent lineage. 🌎💫
