Coffee is in our genes, the mountains is our life.
Meet the owners: Eivy Monroy and Jimmy Tobey. Eivy’s mom has a story to tell, “my dad grew coffee, that was our livelihood, sometimes he sold it even green to bring food to the table; we, as children, played and harvested coffee, dried and selected it for my dad to bring to town”; Eivy’s cousin has won coffee national awards. Jimmy visited their land in 2017, and fell in love with the traditional culture of growing coffee in a very small scale, he even roasted coffee on a woodstove, and grind it to bring some back home. Next year (2018), Jimmy visited Buenavista, Quindio, located in the hearth of the Coffee Belt (Zona Cafetera) after an invitation by Yovani and Todd (friends and owners of Finca 1510). There, in company of Julio, today our manager and agronomist, found the perfect land, the perfect spot, that needed some vision and love. In March 2018, we bought the farm, then Finca La Simona. It was in bad shape...so were many things in our life, so it became our project of life. Today, we have fantastic team of workers putting all their knowledge and effort to recover this land: Finca Abarim. Our business model is based on respect for people and nature, while bringing good quality products to those who love, and enjoy a high quality cup of coffee from a single source. We are working towards promoting environmental practices and good working conditions creating harmony. We will strive to enhance coffee’s characteristics at all levels so our clients can say: we want to visit this farm! That’s the purpose, to make you feel you want to see it by yourself and be part of it.
