ling pastures, bountiful tropical fruit trees, picturesque forest patches, and Quebrada Socorro, our beloved stream that sings us to sleep every night. From the front porch of our ranch house we enjoy watching the clouds build during the rainy season, rainbows form during the misty season, and hawks circle during the dry season. Our perch also provides us with countless opportunities to witness the last rays of the sun paint the sky while bats and fireflies commence their ancient, nightly dance. It is the place where we park ourselves to eat freshly-picked oranges and mangos, watch neighbors learn and children play, relax after a day at work, give thanks for the present, dream about the future, and gaze up at the stars. We look forward to having you join us for your next personal retreat or educational adventure at our farmhouse, Casa Ceiba.

Welcome to Samanea Nature Sanctuary, our 40-acre parcel of paradise tucked at the base of the world-renowned, mile-high Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve in the small valley town of San Luis. We offer nature trails through our forest and organic fruit farm as well as lodging at Casa Ceiba, our farm house that sleeps 8 - perfect for a family get-away or small private retreat. Since 2004, the Samanea Nature Sanctuary is where we’ve done our life's work among rolling pastures, bountiful tropical fruit trees, picturesque forest patches, and Quebrada Socorro, our beloved stream that sings to us, day and night. From the front porch of Casa Ceiba we enjoy watching the clouds build during the rainy season, rainbows form during the misty season, and hawks circle during the dry season.
