The Villalobos varietal was the original coffee of Costa Rica and the one that put our country in the world quality coffee map. Slowly, the Villalobos varietal gave way to new varieties that were much more productive and designed to resist the most common diseases. In other words, this privileged coffee was discarded for more commercial types. Three years ago we embarked on a mission to bring back

the Villalobos varietal. We have planted 16 acres in 2014 and in 2015 we will plant 10 more. In total, by 2018, we will be producing 30,000 lbs per year of this outstanding coffee.
