I realized that a lot of people are a bit confused by my posts.
So I just want to say it clearly - we’re still open!
We have a few more months, and in the meantime you’re more than welcome to come by and enjoy our full, delicious menu.

We’re open every day from 11am to 9pm ❀

My kids and I have plane tickets, and we’re leaving Costa Rica in a week!

With mixed emotions, we’re packing our entire lives into suitcases and saying goodbye to one of the most beautiful places in the world.

This page was never just a business page for me - it was my personal journal of our journey in Costa Rica as a restaurant owner, something I had never done before.

And now, just before I leave and Lior stays behind to run this whole project on his own (until mid-April - if you missed it, feel free to check out my previous posts), I want to say thank you for the incredible opportunity to experience a journey that changed me forever.

It’s so emotional and fulfilling to meet people I love during my last days here - friends and the regulars who’ve supported us along the way.
I’m slowly saying goodbye to everyone, knowing that even if we never meet again, there are so many people here who will always stay in my heart ❀

Thank you for being such a meaningful part of my life ❀

Very soon, the kids and I will be returning to our homeland - It’s a very difficult step for us, but also a freeing and deeply happy one.
(I wrote about it in my previous post.)

Lior is staying here, and he has an amazing plan for what’s next.

One day, a friend said to Lior: “You have golden hands - no matter what you choose to do, you’ll succeed.”
(You know who you are.)

That’s when Lior realized there are products here that deserve to go far - far beyond just a restaurant.
He has products that turn any home meal into something easy to prepare, full of nutritional value, and that truly feels like restaurant-quality food.

And why shouldn’t these products be more accessible?
Why not have them available in every supermarket in Costa Rica?

Tofu schnitzel, lasagna, burgers, and more - just grab them from the freezer, heat them up, and enjoy an amazing meal with zero effort!

This big vision is still just a small seed, starting with local shops and restaurants, but the direction is clear: BM and the big supermarket chains.

If you’d like to see Lory’s products on store shelves and in freezers across Costa Rica, and if you can help Lior move this idea forward, we would truly appreciate any help, connections, or guidance you can offer ❀

So what about you guys?
And what will you do after the restaurant?
Anyone who met me at the restaurant already knows and has heard about what’s next for us.
This time, I want to take the opportunity to share it here with all of you too.

My kids and I are moving back to live in Israel.
After five years of feeling pretty alone, we realized we need our families and a community that supports our unique way of life.

It wasn’t an easy decision, because Israel is crazy - it’s a very intense and challenging place to live in every possible way.
And Costa Rica, on the other hand, is amazing! Freedom, nature, wonderful people - and we’re so grateful for this adventure and for the five years we had here.

Now it’s time for us to go back.
I don’t know what the future holds, and I really hope we’ll be able to come back and visit Pura Vida again.
For now, we’re moving back to Israel.

And Lior? He’s staying here.
He won’t be running the restaurant anymore, but he has a really amazing plan for what’s next.
That
I’ll save for the next post 😉

I kept trying to delay this post...
Like if I didn’t write it, maybe it wouldn’t actually happen.
But here we are...
We have a closing date 😞

On Friday, April 15th, 2026, we’ll be celebrating Lori’s last day.
Starting April 16th, 2026, the restaurant will run in a different format - we’ll begin selling equipment and also post a daily menu based on what we’re able to prepare and what supplies we have left.

This is a really sad moment for us.
We were truly hoping for a different ending for Lori...
But life led us here, and we’re choosing to meet this moment with gratitude for the incredible two and a half years we’ve had in this magical corner of Dominical, right at the entrance to the Tribe - we couldn’t have imagined it any better.

Thank you to the Tribe and thank you to all of you who follow, support, and keep coming back - because of you, we’ve had two and a half years of constant learning, major success, and deep fulfillment ❀

Stay tuned for more updates in the coming posts.

Running a restaurant in Dominical sometimes feels a lot like the powerful ocean here -
there are low tides and high tides, and the difference between them can be huge.

Of course, I love the high tide - that’s when the money flows in, and it feels great.
And I also really appreciate the quiet moments, like today - time to be with my thoughts, to feel, to write posts, and to rest until the next wave comes crashing in.

****

So here I am, finally writing what I’ve been putting off for way too long:
At the end of this season, we’ll be closing.
We don’t know the exact date yet, but this is our last season, and we’re so grateful for the time we still have in this magical place in Dominical ❀

I wanted to write a whole story about the lasagna and how this Italian dish made its way into our Mediterranean menu, but honestly? No need for fancy words - it’s just that good!

This post is for everyone who's confused or not really sure what the future of Lori looks like, or when it's actually ending.

We've still got time!
We’re definitely staying through the season - at least until May.
This whole idea of closing... it’s honestly hard for us to process too.
We’re sad, and we’d love to keep the restaurant here forever at this magical spot at the entrance of Tribe Hotel.
But the Tribe Hotel has other plans, and by the end of next year, we’ll have to leave.

On one hand, I like to make announcements - I like order and knowing what to expect.
But on the other hand, this is the first time in my life that I truly don’t know what to plan for

Maybe we’ll sell the restaurant equipment and Lori will become part of history.
Maybe Lori will live on in a slightly different format, in a different place.
Maybe there’ll be new owners (in a new location). Maybe not.

Lots of “maybes”

It’s because we’re sad and a little scared to say for sure that Lori might not exist anymore

So what is certain?
We’re open every day from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and that’s how it’ll stay at least until May.
We’re open to ideas and thoughts about the future too.

The next few months are a great opportunity to enjoy the restaurant as it is.
We’re so grateful for our time here and for every guest that walks in - especially the amazing community that keeps coming back and reminds us what a beautiful thing we’ve built here.

Thank you for caring.
Thank you for asking.
Thank you for coming back again and again before we close.
And thank you - because it’s thanks to you that we’re still here. ❀

Yesterday a new customer came in.
He saw our sign - "Mediterranean Food" - and decided to give it a try.
But uh-oh đŸ˜± we’re 100% vegan!
Sometimes people open the menu, see it’s vegan, and just get up and leave.

This guy decided to try it anyway.
We talked a lot - he was one of the friendliest people I’ve met.
I explained that falafel is originally always vegan - he was really surprised.
I recommended the shawarma wrap (with our special fries, of course), and I told him just one thing:
Don’t feel obligated!
You’re not eating here to become vegan.
We’re not missionaries.
And if you don’t like the food - I won’t be offended.

He ate, enjoyed, said he missed the fat you usually get from meat, but it was tasty and he’d totally eat it again.

That’s it. No dramatic story.
No deep message.
Just a simple story about delicious food that happens to be plant-based.
We love food and we love people - it’s that simple, and it’s the heart of everything we do at Lori ❀
