All Balkan countries are currently working on improving its agriculture and food industry. Through out the history, livelyhood of this part of Europe came from agriculture and livestock breeding. Based on that, we can see and want to use those potentials in modern times, when civilization need energy, information and above all fresh and healthy food. Fresh and healthy food are still produced tradi
tionally in Balkan countries, so we believe it is the perfect source of food for others. And we believe in our countries and region and want to see them gorw and go toward better future. Serbia has won its battle against GMO seeds in the production, they are summing up the land and investing in cattle farms as well as in greenhouse vegetable production. Macedonia provides subventions for agriculture and currently has lowest tax rates in the region. This country encourages small organic producers and they usually join in trade in order to sell their products. Montenegro is trying to valorize its fishing potentials, build new nurse ponds, rebuild old olive groves and build some new ones. New practice in Montenegro is promotion and expantion of vineyards. All Balkan countries are in the process of enterig the EU, so their laws and norms are mostly in compliance with the European. These countries signed some of the most important international trade agreements and have variety of opportunities for export. Industrially this part of the world is disadvantaged, so the environment is very preserved and unpolluted. Good environment combined with traditional production grant helthy products.
