Episode 0 — In which we explain everything

Since we opened our doors in May 2024, the neighbourhood around us has been… evolving. Rapidly. Enthusiastically. Loudly.

Here's what you may have missed:

The OXI market relocated — then came back, reborn as a sleek covered car park that now serves Royal Hall events, our guests, and everyone in between. Silver lining number one. Then Trikoupi Street was torn up for over a year. Then Konstantinou Palaiologou. Now the OXI roundabout itself. Next up: Xanthis Xenierou — our own street — for an estimated 7 months. (In Cyprus, "estimated" is a philosophical concept.)

The good news? All of this is part of a massive EU-funded project — the "Revitalisation of the Inner Perimeter of the Moat" — that will turn this corner of Nicosia into one of the most beautiful urban promenades in the Mediterranean. Cycling paths, viewpoints, landscaping, underground utilities, the works. Literally, the works.

The better news? We're still here. We've always been here. And the food has never been better.

We've decided to document this epic transformation — cone by cone, trench by trench — because someone has to, and we might as well laugh about it.

Welcome to *Dispatches from the Front Line*: our ongoing chronicle of life, lunch, and dinner in the middle of the most ambitious construction site in old Nicosia.

Cyprus Wine 🍷 at Ayia Napa is a feast of conviviality.

Spring with is a signal that Life’s pleasures are best enjoyed with high doses of genuine spontaneity.
While wine may not solve all challenges or circumstances, in Cyprus, it reveals the true character and charm of this Island of the Mediterranean.
