I wanna apologise for delaying to post this update.

The shop will remain closed. Or should I say on ice? Let’s just say I’m freezing its operation. At the time of writing the last post, the plan was to return; because the opposite didn’t seem like an option. The more time I had to think about it though, the more it became clear to me that coming back to keep doing this on my own wasn’t in any way sustainable. I’ve been unwilling to let it go for two main reasons, the first one being it’s probably the only thing I’ve ever done professionally that was both fulfilling and nurturing – quite literally and metaphorically – and the second being seeing its potential and the demand for it.

I know for sure that I’m not done with it. Yali Ali came to be a life project more than anything else thanks to the endless support of both my nuclear and extended family and of course each and every one of you who showed your support and love by keep coming back. You’ve kept me going for three years when I didn’t think it was possible to make it through even one day on my own. I am immensely grateful for all your support 🫂💚

🐢 Belated January Update 🐢

💚 Happy new year, everyone 💚

I've decided to take a longer break than originally planned. It wasn't a decision I took lightly. I'm in need of rest, some vitamin D and zooming out for a bit as I haven't been able to think clearly because of the stress of running this one-person venture of mine. I'm fully aware your burger stock is running low - I'm also almost completely out 😅 I wanna apologise for the inconvenience, ask for your understanding and thank you for your patience 🙏🏽 I'll get back to prepping, cooking & restocking as soon as the month is done, right after Groundhog Day. Guess what! Yali Ali turned 3 last month! 🎂🥳

A celebration has been long overdue, all the more so because it doesn't come easy and naturally for me, for different reasons. I also have a tendency to focus on all the things that haven't been going 'right' and to dismiss all the personal wins as small or insignificant. I'm also aware that the same goes for a lot of us 💚

To cut a long story short, I've been looking for an excuse for us to have burgers really 😆 And briefly get together bonding over our love for plant-based comfort food, each celebrating our own wins, however big or small.
