♻️ Another successful project delivered in Poland!

We recently supplied a containerized Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) system to Metal-Plast, one of Poland’s leading companies in PVC recycling and a strong advocate of the circular economy.

Housed inside a 20-foot HC ISO container, the DAF system utilizes the entire container space and is designed to efficiently remove suspended solids from industrial wastewater. In the plastics recycling sector, this is particularly important for separating microplastics and fine plastic particles from process water before further treatment or reuse.

💧 By using dissolved air flotation technology, even very small particles can be removed effectively, helping customers improve water quality, reduce environmental impact, and optimize their recycling processes.

🚚 The system has been delivered as a rental unit, giving Metal-Plast the opportunity to test the technology under real operating conditions without a large upfront investment. At the same time, the customer benefits from maximum operational reliability and technical support throughout the rental period.

🌍Great days at the wastewater treatment exhibition in Wrocław, Poland!

We were proud to present our innovative small-scale wastewater treatment solutions: the ClearFox Nature and ClearFox QuickOne systems. Both technologies are designed to treat wastewater for applications ranging from 4 to 50 PE.

Visitors had the opportunity to explore our detailed demonstration models with transparent plexiglass fronts, allowing them to see exactly how each treatment process works.

💧 ClearFox QuickOne operates using the proven SBR (Sequencing Batch Reactor) technology, delivering efficient and reliable wastewater treatment.

🌱 ClearFox Nature is a completely non-electric wastewater treatment plant, treating wastewater without any electrical energy – a sustainable and environmentally friendly solution for decentralized wastewater management.

🚀 Driving Digitalization and Automation in Industrial Wastewater Treatment

We recently had the pleasure of participating in an insightful training session with our valued partner Endress + Hauser . The exchange reinforced how important advanced measurement and control technologies are for efficient, sustainable, and future-ready wastewater treatment. 💧⚙️

At PPU Umwelttechnik, we are continuously expanding the integration of modern instrumentation, online monitoring, and automation into our ClearFox® Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) systems.

By combining innovative wastewater treatment technology with smart measurement and control solutions, we enable:

🚛🌍 Today, the first module of a new wastewater treatment plant is leaving our production facility in Bayreuth and heading to America.

The system will be installed at a camp where it will primarily treat domestic wastewater generated in a humanitarian environment. Reliable sanitation infrastructure is essential for protecting public health, conserving resources, and minimizing environmental impact—especially in locations where dependable wastewater treatment is critical. 🪴

The plant is based on a proven fixed-bed biological treatment process. By providing a large protected surface area for microbial growth, the fixed-bed system enables highly efficient biological degradation of organic pollutants while maintaining stable treatment performance, even under fluctuating hydraulic and organic loads. This makes the technology particularly suitable for decentralized applications where robustness and operational reliability are key requirements. 🚀

In addition to its compact footprint and modular design, the system offers efficient treatment performance, simplified operation, and long-term process stability. The modular construction also allows for straightforward transportation, rapid installation, and future capacity expansion if required.

Today's shipment marks the first milestone of this project. Further components will follow in the coming weeks until the complete treatment system is assembled and commissioned on site.

We are proud to contribute German engineering expertise to a project that combines sustainable wastewater management with a meaningful humanitarian mission. Every successful installation helps improve sanitation standards, protect water resources, and create healthier living conditions for communities that depend on reliable infrastructure. 💧

💧 Upgrading existing wastewater infrastructure doesn’t always require building new plants.

We are proud to share the successful modernization of the pond wastewater treatment plant in Bannerod, Germany, using our containerized ClearFox® Fixed-Bed Bio Reactor (FBBR) technology. 🚛

The facility, originally commissioned more than 40 years ago, had increasingly struggled to meet discharge requirements during extended dry-weather periods. Lower inflow volumes combined with higher pollutant concentrations created operational challenges, particularly regarding ammonium removal. 🪴

Instead of pursuing a costly plant reconstruction or constructing new sewer infrastructure, the municipality of Grebenhain opted for a compact and modular upgrade solution. Following a feasibility study using real wastewater samples from the site, our ClearFox® FBR technology demonstrated its ability to reliably achieve the required treatment performance under actual operating conditions.

The result:
✅ Improved biological treatment performance
✅ Reliable compliance with discharge requirements
✅ Significant relief for the existing lagoon system
✅ Modular and relocatable infrastructure
✅ Implementation completed in less than one year from evaluation to commissioning

Projects like Bannerod demonstrate how existing lagoon treatment plants can be sustainably upgraded to meet today's environmental requirements while preserving valuable infrastructure and controlling investment costs. 🚀

♻️ Tough wastewater from plastic recycling? We’ve got it covered.

Washing plastic creates wastewater full of floating particles and contaminants — not easy to treat. 💧

With our ClearFox system, we achieved:
✔️ COD reduction from ~20,000 to ~3,500 mg/L
✔️ Stable performance where other systems failed

While MBBR and SBR didn’t work reliably, our FBBR technology delivers consistent results. ⚙️

Combined with a lamella clarifier, solids are removed quickly and efficiently.
