Pardala is finally back in stock, and this time as the complete collection!
Last year when we introduced pardala, it was unfortunately without the very rare Pardala Palhete. But none or the less we are this time very happy to present it in our selection!
Palhete is a rare type of wine that is found in most regions in Portugal, in which a mix of white and red grapes are made to achieve a light and juicy red wine. Pardala Palhete is Pedro’s take on this portuguese classic, in which he mixes 3 classic Douro red grape varieties (Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca) with a small amount of the white grape Rabigato.
Harvest is done by hand, and the grapes are transported directly to the winery. The grapes are immediately placed in a pneumatic press, producing the free-run juice, which is a richer must. The must then afterwards ferments for around 18 days in steel tank, until its transferred to another steel tank where the wine ages for 9 months on the lees.
Pardala Palhete is an extremely juicy and elegant red, with a well balanced acidity. Notes of unripe cherries, wild strawberries, and green apples, all complimented with a slight earthy note of forrest bottom. High minerality and a very low intensity rubin red color
