Die Stadt Loket liegt in einer markanten Schleife des Flusses Ohře (Eger).
Da der Fluss hier einen Felsen umfließt, erinnert seine Form an einen gebeugten Arm – daher stammt auch der Name Loket (Ellbogen).
Das hiesige Amphitheater nahm bereits im Jahr 1949 seinen Betrieb auf und konzentrierte sich anfangs auf nationale Veranstaltungen.

Auch im Jahr 2026 bietet die Kulturszene an diesem geschichtsträchtigen Ort – einer der schönsten Kulissen Europas nahe Karlsbad –
ein hochkarätiges Programm für das tschechische und deutsche Publikum.
Ein besonderes Highlight ist die Pilotveranstaltung des „Americana & Country Events“, das direkt unterhalb der Burg stattfindet.
Das internationale Line-up bringt Bands aus Australien, England, Holland und Deutschland auf die Bühne.
