It is a time of waiting, of natural progression, where patience is just as important as the work of our hands.

Working the steep slate slopes of the Mosel is not a task; it is a commitment. With inclines of up to 80 percent, no machine can replace the careful touch of a human hand. Every vine is nurtured individually, every decision made with respect for the centuries of tradition beneath our feet. It is demanding, uncompromising work, but it is the only way to achieve the puristic clarity and elegance that defines a Fritz Haag Riesling.

Great Riesling is shaped long before harvest.
The final canopy work is an important task of the season. It allows light and air to reach the fruit, supports healthy grapes, and prepares the vines for the final stage of ripening.
