And this is the language I've recently rediscovered, immersed myself in and loved sharing (as in all Indian and South African homes) with my family an
d friends. From South Africa to Germany, now giving us a chance to immerse our selves into another part of our family culture (hence my German surname). Whilst pursing other opportunities, taking some time out, settling my family, I've also discovered a passion. Cooking traditional Indian dishes, dishes that my mum and aunts have cooked for decades, adding my own modern twists. Whilst being a working mum for a long time, I never had the time to be still and actually enjoy cooking. However in a new country, I found that cooking 'traditional home' meals made me less home sick and somewhat comforting. I dug out all the old recipes mum used to make, and getting recipes from my aunts and then made them one by one, which was incredibly heart and soul warming .. bringing back the fondest memories of my mum especially. Having mastered so many dishes and exploring a new passion, I decided to to share it beyond my family in my cooking classes and take home meals. My recipes are traditional and delicious, using fresh herbs,spices and good quality vegetables and meats. I invite you into my home for some fun cooking classes (10 max), join a mixed group, put together your own group or if you have a special occasion like a birthday, why not make it a cooking class party with friends or couples, where you can there after enjoy the meal together.
