Paper production means large volumes of water and complex material flows.
Recovered paper and increasingly closed water circuits introduce unwanted substances — while efficient fibre recovery and reject management stay critical for both operating costs and resource efficiency.
Here, separation technology has to deliver more than a high separation rate. It has to run reliably under industrial conditions, fit into existing production environments, and avoid adding maintenance complexity.
That's exactly where we see the potential of High-G Technology.
Instead of treating filtration as an isolated step, we look at the whole process:
Which substances should stay in? Which contaminants need to go? And where does separation create the greatest operational benefit? The answer differs from mill to mill — which is why on-site testing and application-specific engineering are core to how we work.

We'll share more on High-G Light-, Heavy- and Combi-Line in the coming months — and we'll be part of the industry dialogue at the 2026 Symposium of Paper Engineers in Bremerhaven, 22–24 October 2026.

Let's talk about what High-G separation could improve in your process. 💬

Industrial process streams rarely contain just one type of contaminant.
Light particles. Heavy particles. Or complex mixtures of both. That's why one separation solution rarely fits every challenge.
Our High-G Technology uses centrifugal and fluid forces to exploit differences in density — designed for continuous operation and plug & play integration into existing processes. To match the actual composition of a process stream, we've developed three configurations:

▸ High-G Light-Line — separates particles lighter than the carrier liquid
▸ High-G Heavy-Line — targets heavier and coarse particles
▸ High-G Combi-Line — removes light and heavy contaminants in one process concept

One principle, adapted to the real challenge — instead of forcing very different separation tasks into a single solution.

It started as a way to remove microplastics from wastewater. Today, the same technology is optimizing industrial processes.
Over the past years, we've shown how high centrifugal forces and controlled flow patterns can separate particles from liquid streams — efficiently and continuously.
But the principle behind our High-G Technology solves a much broader challenge: removing unwanted particles and contaminants from process streams, while keeping production stable, efficient and easy to operate.
So we're expanding the scope. From environmental technology to real industrial process optimization — with growing relevance for the pulp & paper industry and other process industries.
The question is no longer only "Can this remove microplastics?" It's "What can High-G separation improve in our process?"

More on that in the next posts. 👇

Recovered fiber-based white printing grades place especially high demands on fiber yield, contaminant control and stable runnability.

ECOFARIO has identified another promising application for its High-G Technology in this demanding production environment — focusing on the recovery of valuable fibers from fine reject streams and the targeted removal of acrylate-related contaminants and microstickies.

By applying the High-G Combi-Line, recoverable fibers can be returned to production instead of being lost with reject. At the same time, the technology opens new opportunities to improve sticky control in process areas where conventional separation concepts often reach their limits.

This application once again highlights the growing demand for high-precision, application-specific separation solutions that deliver measurable process improvements beyond standard equipment approaches.

ECOFARIO has been featured in the German outdoor and environmental magazine alpinwelt following the recognition of our High-G Technology with the Bavarian Environmental Award.

The article highlights our approach to microplastic removal from wastewater streams using hydrodynamic forces instead of conventional filter systems. In the interview, Dr.-Ing. Sebastian Porkert discusses the environmental relevance of microplastic emissions and the importance of practical large-scale treatment solutions.

While alpinwelt is a regional German publication focused on outdoor culture and environmental topics in the Alpine region, the interview reflects a growing international interest in sustainable wastewater treatment and resource-efficient environmental technologies.

ECOFARIO has identified another promising application for its High-G Technology in modern stock preparation processes.

Following a detailed on-site assessment, several reject streams were identified as highly attractive candidates for targeted treatment with High-G Combi-Line technology. These streams combine relevant flow rates with valuable residual fiber content, creating strong potential for recovering usable material that would otherwise be lost from the process.

By enabling precise treatment of reject streams from screening and cleaning stages, the technology helps transform conventional loss streams into a measurable source of increased fiber yield, improved raw material efficiency and stronger process economics.

This application once again highlights the growing demand for precisely engineered, application-specific separation solutions that go beyond standard approaches in modern paper production.

Increasing solids loads in industrial wastewater treatment systems can place significant stress on recirculation flows, pumps and downstream process stages.

ECOFARIO is currently advancing a new pilot deployment focused on the targeted purification of heavily loaded filtrate streams generated by dewatering units. The compact two-stage High-G system is designed to selectively remove fine solids and stabilize internal process water loops under demanding operating conditions.

By separating filtrate streams into heavy and light fractions, High-G Technology supports improved process stability, reduced solids load and more efficient wastewater treatment performance — particularly where conventional settling processes reach their limits.

The pilot setup also demonstrates how retrofit capability, low installation effort and practical process optimization can be combined in real industrial environments.

Where premium paper is made from premium raw materials, every lost fiber matters.

ECOFARIO has identified a new application potential for its High-G-Technology in the production of high-end specialty papers. The focus lies on fiber-bearing process water streams, where even small losses can have a significant economic impact.

By enabling targeted treatment and intelligent reuse of process water, High-G-Technology supports both fiber recovery and fresh water reduction. Instead of acting as a standalone separation step, it becomes a strategic element for a more efficient wet-end concept and improved overall water management.

This approach highlights the growing demand for precisely engineered, application-specific solutions in premium paper production — where process stability, resource efficiency and economic performance are closely linked.
