Europe is closing in on microplastics.
The EU's Zero Pollution Action Plan aims to cut microplastic releases to the environment by 30% by 2030. A REACH restriction already limits intentionally added microplastics, and since late 2025 new EU rules target plastic pellet losses.
But there's a gap: conventional wastewater treatment plants were never designed to capture microplastics. A large share ends up in sewage sludge, and treated water still carries particles onward into rivers and seas.
That gap is exactly where ECOFARIO started. Our High-G Technology removes microplastics from water by high centrifugal force — continuously, and built for real operating conditions. From wastewater to industrial process streams, the principle stays the same: take the small particles out, reliably.

Every loop you close keeps something in. Not just water.

Paper mills are closing their water circuits to save fresh water. But the tighter the loop, the more unwanted material accumulates in the process water. Closing loops concentrates contaminants.

High-G separation tackles the particulate side of that load. Our hydrocyclone-based system separates by density in a high-G centrifugal field, continuously and in full flow:

→ light contaminants such as stickies, wax and styrofoam
→ heavy contaminants such as sand, splinters and specks
→ while good fiber is recovered and stays in the process

The result: the solids burden stays in check, and the process stays stable and resource-efficient.

High-G integrates plug & play as a standalone tail stage or multi-stage cascade, with low clogging tendency and low specific energy consumption. Available as Light-Line, Heavy-Line and Combi-Line.

Our pilot plant is booked out through Q2 2027 — and the waiting list keeps growing. 📈
The reason is simple: mills want valuable fiber to stay in the process, not disappear into the reject. That’s exactly where our High-G Combi-Line delivers — removing light and heavy contaminants in a single process concept.
Next up: another long-term Combi-Line trial in an OCC paper mill, with one clear target — cutting fiber losses in the fine reject.

Nominiert wurden wir für unseren High-G-Separator, der mit hoher Zentrifugalkraft unerwünschte Partikel kontinuierlich aus Flüssigkeitsströmen abscheidet – von Mikroplastik im Abwasser bis zur Faserrückgewinnung in der Papierindustrie.
Die Nominierung bestätigt unseren Einsatz für ressourceneffiziente, wirksame Technologie in industriellen Prozessen.
Der DNP Produkte zeichnet wegweisende Produkte, Dienstleistungen und (digitale) Systeme aus, die die Transformation wirksam voranbringen und damit in ihrem Markt beispielgebend sind.
