When the vines just wont get in by machin, you have to get the tools out and do it the oldschool way. My father is a limestone expert, who has been growing vines in Mölsheim for more than 40 years and knows all the tricks. His favor of easier soils is also totally understandable 😄.

So, I bought this piece of land.
A year back, when there was an opportunity to get vineyards in the Zellertal all eyes were on Herrgott but I looked at Frauenberg.
There it was, sitting right behind the border of Mölsheim and marking the entrance into the valley. The gate into the Zellertal or into the Rhine valley, depending on where you come from. I sensed the energy of this special place for a long time. Standing there you get the feeling of being at a cliffed coast. Wind, some old primal force and a view that is just stunning. Frauenberg means freedom.

Last week we planted Riesling and the moment the first vine was put into the soil, I felt this calming satisfaction that my perceptions did not disappoint me. In fact, you can hear the heavy limestone that is waiting under a few centimetres of top soil.

UPLIFTING NEWS! It seems like the ProWein is needing some heavy lifting after all this WineParis talk. I am at Halle 1 A120 and I will bring a range that feels like a Full Body Workout. On a sidenote, I really need to train a bit more, that lift looked as unstable as the future of the ProWein. No puns intended, of course.

Fermentation is over. This year it started strong and then the yeasts took their time. It is always a great to see how each vintage is making itself by fermentation strength and length. After the very fast fermentation of 24, the 25ers had to relax a little.

Am 13. Und 14. Dezember findet unsere Jahrgangsverkostung statt. Teilnehmen könnt ihr im Weingut Full in Mölsheim, von jeweils 14:00-18:00 Uhr. Die Probe ist kostenlos. Eine Anmeldung wäre hervorragend, aber auch spontan Entschlossene sind gerne gesehen. Ihr könnt den kompletten 24er Jahrgang inklusive der Lagenweine probieren und dazu eine Preview auf die 25er Kabis und den Kalkstein Riesling. Wir freuen uns auf Euch!

Am kommenden Samstag und Sonntag haben wir unsere Frühlingsverkostung. Von 13:00-18:00 Uhr Samstags im Weingut und am Sonntag den ganzen Tag an der Mölsheimer Weinrast. Die ist nur 400m vom Weingut entfernt und bietet eine tolle Aussicht, Sitzgelegenheiten und neben der Weinverkostung den normalen Ausschank. Kommt doch gerne vorbei!

Resó und Rosé Bild

Was haben wir denn da? Zweimal der gleiche Wein im Bild? Nein! Es ist der Rosé Réserve und der Resó Réserve. Ist doch klar. Der Rosé ist eine Cuvée aus Spätburgunder und Saint Laurent, wohingegen der Resó ein Cuvee aus Grauburgunder und Weissburgunder im Rosé Gewand ist. Same but different. Aromatisch gar nicht so weit voneinander entfernt, oder doch?

hat do we have here? Two bottles of the same wine in the picture? Not quite! It’s the Rosé Réserve and the Resó Réserve. Easy to confuse, right? The Rosé is a blend of Pinot Noir and Saint Laurent, whereas the Resó is a cuvée of Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc in a rosé style. Same but different. Aromatically, they’re not worlds apart—or are they?
