That's how Stars taste. The European B**r Star competition has been organised by the association Private Brauereien since 2004.

It has long become one of the most important b**r competitions in the world. European B**r Star prizes are awarded to high quality b**rs, which are genuine and full of character. Consideration is given to types of b**r which have their origins in Europe. Any brewery in the world can take part: breweries with local, regional, interregional and international operations are eligible, not only from Europe, but also from all countries on every continent. Thus all those which brew their b**rs in the traditional, European way.

Our legendary “Winners’ Night” will take place again in November. It is regarded in the industry as the outstanding, exclusive event of the year. This is where the b**r world meets around what is probably the most highly decorated b**r counter in the world, stocked with all the winning b**rs from the competition 🥇🥈🥉

The Winners’ Night offers people from the brewing industry a unique opportunity to exchange ideas, socialize and chat over outstanding b**r 🍻

At the EBS, the path to bronze, silver, or gold involves several rounds. Our judges look, smell, taste - and in the final rounds, they usually engage in extensive discussion to ensure that only the very best receive an award 🥇🥈🥉

Four weeks ago, after the tasting, we had a wonderful evening at in Erlangen. The judges were able to round out the evening with good b**r, good food, and a special tour of the brewery’s facilities 🍻

The first judging day of the European B**r Star 2026 is over, and it was a huge success 🍻 Our judges’ main task was to evaluate the preliminary rounds in each category.

We’ll see which b**rs have advanced to the next rounds.
