Neben dem Riesling als Hauptrebsorte sind die Burgunder und der Silvaner von besonderer Bedeutung im Weingut. Durch biologisch dynamischen Anbau, intensive Weinbergspflege und traditionellem Weinausbau entstehen hier Weine mit eigenem Charakter, großem Terroirbezug und hoher Güte. Die „Ersten Lagen“ des Gutes sind MORSTEIN, BRUNNENHÄUSCHEN, KIRCHSPIEL und AULERDE. Das Weingut ist Mitglied im VDP – Die Prädikatsweingüter.

A first taste of the 2025 Grand Cru vintage.

On September 5th 2026, we invite you to Westhofen for our special “Erstverkostung der Grossen Weine” at Gutshof Valentin .
Together with our colleagues from Sophie Christmann , Sektgut Christmann & Kauffmann , Eva Clüsserath - Wittmann , Weingut Schäfer-Fröhlich and Weingut Ökonomierat Rebholz , we will present the 2025 Grand Cru w**es ahead of their release, offering a first opportunity to discover the new vintage.

The tasting will be accompanied by the cuisine of from the Michelin-starred Steins Traube in Mainz.

We look forward to welcoming you in Westhofen!

HARVEST DIARY 02

There is a particular feeling at the beginning of harvest - a combination of excitement, concentration and anticipation.

Harvest 2026 began with Chardonnay from Steingrube, with the grapes arriving in exceptional condition.
The focus now turns to picking each parcel at exactly the right moment.

Every walk through the vineyard brings new observations.

As harvest approaches, the vineyards are checked daily. The berries continue to ripen, flavours develop and every parcel evolves at its own pace.

The right moment cannot be rushed, it is found through patience and careful observation.

Two vineyards. Two expressions of Westhofen.

At first glance, Kirchspiel and Aulerde share the same limestone origins. Looking closer, their soils tell different stories.

Kirchspiel, with its more shallow limestone soils and cooler microclimate, produces w**es of remarkable precision, freshness and elegance.

Aulerde is characterised by deeper soils with a higher proportion of clay, giving the w**es generosity, structure and depth.

The same village. Different terroirs. Individual personalities.
