Finca Amanecer Farm

Finca Amanecer Farm We strive to keep PachaMama (mother earth) healthy and happy. Someday we hope to have a teaching farm and produce nearly everything we consume.

For now we're students ourselves, learning as we work with lunar organic gardening, regen ag and silvopasture. We're a small family farm on the coast of Ecuador. We spend our time planting trees and growing our vegetable garden, caring for our animals, raising our son, and doing our best to create a space where human impact improves rather than harms the land, all in the hopes of inspiring others to do so too.

Working towards a better tomorrow..

We’re a Canadian/Ecuadorian family with a small hilltop farm on the coast of Ecuador. We call ourselves “Finca Amanecer”, “finca” meaning “farm” and “amanecer” meaning “dawn”. We chose that name not only because of the beautiful sunrise we see from our hilltop, but also because of the idea of what a new dawn and a new day can bring. Every year here and around the world we see more destruction and death. More deforestation, more burning of the land to make room for mono-crops, more chemicals, more abuse of this beautiful home.

We hope to do things differently, and in doing so set an example so that others may learn a more wholesome way of life. We strive to produce most of what we eat, and to do so in harmony with the natural space surrounding us. We aim to increase biodiversity and create an oasis for the fauna of this area, when so much habitat is being destroyed. We promise to not be wasteful, and to live as stewards of the earth rather than as a virus infecting it. Above all, we hope to bring about a dawn of change in the minds and hearts of those who visit us here in our fragile little slice of paradise. Won't you join us?
