We ran out of coffee...
Our Renegade coffee regions have been overlooked by the mainstream industry for a reason. They are remote, difficult to work with, and the logistics are usually a nightmare.
We still believe these communities and their coffee deserve a chance. But last month, that belief brought us to a point where we simply had no coffee left to roast.
So, what is happening in the Renegade regions?
In Daga, Papua New Guinea, the logistical problems seem to be even greater than last year, when the beans reached Estonia in November instead of July. This year, there has been constant rain, a hurricane, and now we have already been waiting for months for a flight to bring the coffee from the remotest villages.
In Andemaka, Madagascar, the harvest is still ongoing and, so far, everything is moving according to plan. We say โso farโ because it is a Renegade destination after all...
And at our third origin, a revolution broke out before the beans could reach the ship. Once they are safely on board, we will finally tell you where they are coming from. ๐
While we wait, we didn't want the roasting machine and our skills to go cold, so we asked our community which coffee they would like to try. They chose Rwanda, and it has surprised us in the best possible way: consistent to roast, complex, fruity and far more versatile than expected.
Apparently, we are not the only ones who like it, because we are already almost sold out. If youโd like to try the Rwanda coffee, you still have a chance.
Our own origins will still take a little longer, but some new coffee beans are on their way to our Saaremaa roastery. Next month, there will be something completely different to explore.
