Another Bolt Food courier in Tallinn I'm a Bolt Food courier who is doing it as a hobby.

So today I had an experience that shows how unpredictable the delivering can be. I picked up the first order from Kopli and delivered it to Meriton hotel in city center. Next pickup was in Old Town and I delivered it to Lasnamäe. From there I got another order pickup and delivery destination was Haabneeme (Viimsi).

Basically during 3 deliveries and 45 minutes I got from one side of city to another side :)

Another cold week has passed. Compared to last week the income was lower and I think it is due to my selected working hours. If last week I was delivering at peak times then this week was active later in the evenings. 🌙

I had several issues with one burger restaurant where orders were multiple times late approximately 10 minutes costing me valuable time. And the workers there didn't seem to bother it. 😞

Secondly when I got one order from city center to Lasnamäe then a lot of orders afterwards were coming in the same region. So when I tried to return to city center where the multipliers where higher I got more orders from Lasnamäe. Working in Lasnamäe is quite intense - huge buildings, small and tight roads between and deliveries are usually to higher floors 🛕

Usually when I'm driving in city between orders I don't log off and I'm open to new orders continuously.

Overall I'm happy with this result and seems that cold weather is preventing bike couriers to work. So there is constant flow of orders and to maximize the income you need to keep the eye on multipliers and districts in Tallinn 😵‍💫

Basically the initial enthusiasm dissolved and I wanted to make a break. Also I had troubles finding time to deal with delivering food. Made two totally random deliveries and thats it.

After long period away from Bolt I returned and tried delivering again. Meanwhile the earning model was updated by Bolt. So there are multipliers based on location and also additional multiplier for high-demand periods. Several factors were in favor to make deliveries:
- cold winter
- bad weather, snowstorm, etc
- no bike couriers

So to conclude the multipliers were high and it wasn't uncommon to have basically double fares for deliveries. 🤑

From delivering point of view it was still quite normal and regular, Bolt market is active and McDonalds tend to be late with orders.

But overall I'm satisfied with the result and if to consider the multipliers and regions in Tallinn then earnings can be optimized. At the moment I plan to continue with delivering food 🙃

Happy new year! I'm back on delivering again. There has been a long cap since my last posts but actually I made some deliveries in last autumn. I will back post these results aswell.

Meantime in October Bolt revamped the earning logic in app and now they used multipliers more dynamically. So it will be interesting to see how it influences the earnings.

This week started with no Bolt Food in my mind. On Friday after my evening jog I logged online and planned to make some deliveries.

Right away I got a Bolt Market order consisting of 10+ liters of Coca-Cola and Sprite. And ofcourse I had to deliver it to 4th floor with no elevator 🥵

Next order was not better as again I had to climb to 4th floor, luckily the package was lighter. Additionally noticed in the older apartment buildings that if the elevator is busy then up to 6th floor I can get faster on foot. 😁 Besides earning some small money I can get fit aswell 💪

This week seems to be very quiet on Bolt delivery front. I'm totally busy with my other commitments and I don't see any available time to make any deliveries.

I made a stupid attempt to go online during the rush-hour at 17:00 in Ülemiste. I got one order and delivered it but the traffic was soo heavy that the stress level wasn't in line with those few € I got from this drive 😡

So I need to stick with my regular schedule and deliver food in the evenings when traffic is light or during lunch time when there are a lot of orders and traffic is tolerable 🤓

Another week is completed. This time it was a lazy week as I had other more important stuff to do. Therefore I delivered food on two evenings and made one hour session on Sunday to finish it off. Income is nothing special and during the deliveries I had several quiet moments where I had to wait for another order. Secondly the delays at the restaurant impacted my hourly income quite much. Seems that several restaurants tend to delay with food during late evening hours 😞

Most active week so far has passed 😆 Basically I worked every possible evening and tried to go online at he busiest time around 20:00. This strategy proved to be successful and I has several streaks with back-to-back orders. Usually I worked 3-5 hours per evening. Overall I'm satisfied with the result and the courier hobby seems still fun :)

Now we are on track (or reporting present time) with all the posts. Before I had to backpost about three last weeks.

Today rainy evening has proven to be very active for Bolt. Even if deliveries are short the minimum pay of 3€ applies. Therefore I managed to fulfill several orders with no waiting time between. Very nice indeed!

During this week I logged in to Bolt app on four evenings. The orders came in pretty constantly and no bigger waiting between. So it was quite fluent and effortless. The Sunday evening was extra generous earning me 46€ for around 3,5h of driving. Next week plan is to be more active and try different locations.

Highlights from week 3:
- Some frustratingly long waiting times outside restaurants as food preparation takes longer that expected 😞
- Record amount of deliveries from McDonalds (seems that people prefer this food in the evenings) 🍔
- At 2 AM food was ordered to a garage complex with instructions to look for white gate. Luckily the customer ran out of darkness waving mobile phone with flashlight. This area in general was quite spooky but luckily the delivery was smooth 😬
- When one delivery took me to Lasnamäe then during driving back from there several new orders came. So I had to stay there for some time. Usually I try to avoid that area as navigating there is a bit struggle plus Lasnamäe consists mostly of really big buildings (see my previous post why it is inconvenient)
- My Friday night shift ended with a bit unusual delivery to strip club. A pretty, shy and cute girl accepted the delivery at the reception 🙃
