Kristina Lupp, an Estonian Canadian chef and food writer, invites locals and travellers to experience the charm of Estonian - and far-off - flavours in the cosiness of her flat in the Old Town. Having lived in South Africa, Australia and Italy, and now firmly a Tallinner, she welcomes you to her house to experience food from across the globe, with a little Estonian heart. A supper club is not an o
fficial club, you don't need a membership here, just an interest in trying new food and meeting new people. Supper clubs originated in Cuba and became very popular in London and New York, where people started to yearn for casual dining with a chance to connect to people - and to hear the story of the food and its cook. Convivial, sharing food. For those who love socialising, whilst learning about new food and culture. Every month or so, we organise dinner parties. Sometimes we have a guest chef, so far, we’ve had visiting chefs from Toronto, Italy, Korea, Spain, as well as some local cooks. Sometimes we come up with fun, experimental menus, sometimes we just improvise. Some guests come back regularly, some visit on vacation as a one-off. Some bring groups of friends, others come by themselves. We’ll speak a mixture of languages, but English normally unites us all! How does it work, you ask? You’ll buy a ticket, normally in the region of 35-55 euros in advance, which will include a very generous meal of 4-7 courses. Sometimes we offer wine pairing options, other times we ask you to bring your own. If that's the case, we will send out wine or drinks recommendations before each event. You can bring as much or as little to drink as you like, and it's up to you if you share your wine with others at the table. You can dress up – Estonians like to make an effort still when going out – but really, the dinners are very casual and relaxing. We sort of become friends for an evening! When is the next event?
