This is the one-man mission of a Hungarian guy living in the beautiful Umdloti, South Africa. I have a passion for food, I enjoy eating (which is not big news of course) but I also enjoy making food. This is what I would like to share with the world, recipes from my mom, my dad, my sister and pretty much from my entire family. I also stared a small business here in South Africa under the same name

where I make Hungarian style sausages that I sell to butcheries and also sell at the markets in and around Durban, fried and served in a baguette with some delicious condiments. Nõmbra Metsaresto on oma 20 tegutsemisaasta jooksul teinud viljakat koostööd eesti, udmurdi, saami ja mari kokkadega, mille tulemusena on tutvustatud eesti publikule huvitavat pärandit ja sündinud palju unikaalseid retsepte. Samuti on esinema kutsutud mitmeid etnoartiste eesotsas Wimme Saari. Lüütürri ja Maria Korepanovaga. Sellest tekkiski idee laiendada haaret ja pakkuda huvilistele ka teiste vennasrahvaste toidupärimust vürtsitatuna hea rahvamuusikaga.

My name is Tamas, and I am from Hungary.

About 19 years ago, my mother wrote down her homemade recipes in a book so I could always have the taste of home with me wherever I go. Since then I lived in the UK, South Africa, and now I live in Estonia. Every time I felt homesick I made something from that book, and this is how my love for cooking was born. I love to share food, which is why I started a small hobby business in Estonia called The Hungry Hungarian where I sell traditional goulash soup, and occasionally make other items like lángos, a popular Hungarian street food. I am honored to collaborate with Metsarestoran to serve delicious Hungarian food to our guests.
