According to a 2010 cradle-to-grave cost analysis by Franklin Associates (a solid-waste management consulting group owned by Eastern Research Group, Inc.), PET plastic bottles use less energy, generate less solid waste and create significantly fewer greenhouse gases than aluminum cans.

Delta El Nile developed the first 1.15 gm Hybrid closure in Egypt and in the region, with 12% of reduction when compared with standard hybrid closures. The reduction of material in PET bottles or closures is a concern of the packaging industry, considering that the more we reduce the use of this material, the more we reduce its environmental and economic impacts. Any material used in excess of PET represents a reduction in margins for the beverage industry.

Bearing in mind the economic and environmental context, Delta El Nile has been concerned with the development of lighter preforms and bottles, which at the same time do not impact the final product.

The shelf life of products is an extremely important factor for the food and beverage industry in quality assurance. By increasing the shelf life of the packaging, we guarantee an increase in the storage time of the products, and consequently, a decrease in financial and productivity losses. Delta El Nile believes in the power of the science to develop new alternatives that meets the needs of our costumers. For this reason, our company, together with Beyti and Al Maraai, developed the first PET bottle in Africa for storing milk with a shelf life of 6 months, thus guaranteeing our consumers greater storage flexibility with guaranteed final quality.
