Two souls meet randomly one evening during a layover in Madrid and then quickly return to their separate lives on opposite sides of the world. David, a Spanish winemaker, and Melanie, a sales representative in Hawaii, bond through an intense mutual attraction and their deep love of wine, but emotions, language barriers and cultural differences get in the way. Their story is a love story that revolves around humorous cultural anecdotes, the invisible and unexplained life forces that conspire to bring two souls together, the pain of blind love, hardship and loss, and, ultimately, the power of faith.

También leeré algunos fragmentos en inglés, una bonita oportunidad para que los más pequeños escuchen y disfruten del idioma.

Un encuentro para niños y adultos, para recordar lo que las abejas y la naturaleza nos pueden enseñar cuando aprendemos a escuchar. 🌿

I’m delighted to be presenting The Whisper of the Hive / El Susurro de la Colmena at Astrolibros.

Come discover how a dream became an illustrated book, explore the original artwork by Anne-Lise Yandell, and share a morning of storytelling, art, and nature.

I’ll also be reading a few passages in English, offering children a chance to experience the language through storytelling.

A gathering for children and adults alike, reminding us of all that bees and nature can teach us when we take the time to listen. 🌿

I could tell you a romantic story about hand-labeling bottles, but the truth is, I didn’t want to do it.

As I was organizing everything, I felt like I was being watched. I looked up, and perched on top of a pallet was our cat, Honey, staring at me.

Determined to change my energy, he joined me in my workspace and paced, purred, and rubbed against me so much that I eventually pulled out my phone to show my son when he got home from school.

Here is a brief glimpse into why I need animals in my life.

In this Fall Equinox, I think of Persephone and her descent to the underworld with Hades, and the fear of venturing into the unknown. She was plucked from safety and forced to go within, onto a dark and unseen path.

Life keeps us busy, forcing us to produce, ensuring we are mindless, distracted, and disconnected from ourselves and nature.

Persephone was forced into darkness, yet allowed the discomfort to transform her, to grow and rise again each spring into something more beautiful and powerful. In discomfort, there is growth. Rest gives way to strength that enables us to push through the darkness and bear seeds for the next season.

Fall starts Earth’s inhalation reminding us of the cycle of the seasons. A time to start slowing down and go within.

Late August and harvest has started. Every year I write how harvest has stared earlier than the last…and still it continues. Sasikume 2026 has finished fermentation. What a year so far! Nothing is as it was.
