When I’m not baking- I’m cooking - and love gathering people around a table to share a meal. In this case a Saturday paella and then lazy Sunday morning cheesy scones - because the bread ran out and it was a good excuse to bake some scones. 😍

Today I broke my savoury breakfast rule. When I was about to slather my toast in olive oil - I remembered the breakfast offering in Barcelona - toast with olive oil, chocolate and salt. I had to go for it as it sounded amazing but was a bit disappointed with how it arrived on the plate. So today I convinced myself that chocolate is a super food and broke my rule. Except I shaved the chocolate so it went all ooey gooey. All I can say is ditch the j***y chocolate spread - for this guilt free ( in my book anyway) option. Yuuum.

So sad to say the Polo market taking place tomorrow has been cancelled due to bad weather and wind forecasts for tomorrow. I’ll be back at another one - hope to see you there and will let you know when I’ll be baking up a storm for that. If you’re on the costa del sol hold onto your hat ❤️😬

Homemade protein ball eggs made with nut butter/almond flour and date syrup- coated in melted chocolate and speckled with cocoa, in a chocolate and cornflake nest.

Giving my chocolate HOTXLOVE bun some added loving to take it to the next level with chocolate butter, strawberries - and chocolate shavings. OMG. This tastes like true love 😍😍

Guess what I’m getting up to 😋😋😋 for me the thicker the butter the better. So happy with the fluffiest fruity and subtlety spiced HXBs. I suppose I’ll be eating them all😋. Already dreaming of one toasted tomorrow morning with coffee.

Oooh it’s that time of year HXB (or hotcross bun) season. Personally I can’t go through Easter without them - forget the eggs - just give me the HXB - traditional spicy & fruity. What’s your preference - chocolate or traditional ?

Happy Spring - sitting at the fire on this chilly rainy day in not so sunny southern Spain. So grateful for all that I have and sending my love and prayers out into the world for all those that need.

Last Sundays beach clean with was just the medicine I needed - a Beautiful drive to a place I’d never been before, getting out in nature to soothe all the weeks worries away - participating in a worthy cause- and bonus - meeting incredible new friends and having great conversations.
I feel so honoured to have met these young men who have made such an impact on my life. You can meet them and join in a beach clean at Playa Punta Paloma in Tarifa tomorrow (8 March) - see below for more details. Would you like to join in? Drop a 👍
