It is not from French Provence — nor does it need to be. This Penedès rosé is born at 300 metres above sea level, bathed in Mediterranean sunshine and caressed by the sea breeze. Made from organically grown Merlot, it offers aromas of strawberry, cherry, peach, grapefruit and orange blossom. On the palate, it is dry, light and refreshing, with a long, precise finish. For far too long, we have searched for the perfect rosé north of the Pyrenees, overlooking what we had much closer to home. At €10.50, it is hard to find a more convincing case for Penedès rosé. Don’t miss it!

No es de la Provenza francesa, ni falta que le hace. Este vino rosado del Penedès nace a 300 metros de altitud, bañado por el sol mediterráneo y acariciado por la brisa marina. Elaborado con merlot ecológico, ofrece aromas a fresa, cereza, melocotón, pomelo y flor de azahar. En boca es seco, ligero y refrescante, con un final largo y preciso. Durante demasiado tiempo hemos buscado el rosado perfecto al norte de los Pirineos, ignorando lo que teníamos más cerca. Por 10,50 €, cuesta encontrar una defensa más convincente del rosado del Penedès. ¡No te lo pierdas!

All wines are born from a vineyard, but few tell the story of their origin with such precision. Viña Macua 2023 is the first wine from Bodegas Maset to be recognised as a «single vineyard» (viñedo singular), the highest distinction awarded by DOCa Rioja. Born from an old vineyard in Medrano, Rioja Alta, and refined for six months in French oak barrels from Tronçais, it expresses the unique character of its landscape with elegance and authenticity.

Todos los vinos nacen de un viñedo, pero pocos explican su origen con tanta precisión. Viña Macua 2023 es el primer vino de Bodegas Maset reconocido como «viñedo singular», la máxima distinción de la D. O. Ca. Rioja. Nacido de un viñedo viejo de Medrano, en Rioja Alta, y afinado durante seis meses en barricas de roble francés de Tronçais, expresa con elegancia y autenticidad el carácter único de su paisaje.
