Not just any soup — this is mama witch's kohlrabi soup 🪄, one of my absolute favorites. Weird? Maybe. Delicious? Hell, yes! 😅
Sauté shredded onion, carrots, and kohlrabi with a pinch of salt, add water, and let it simmer until everything softens. A squeeze of lemon goes in next - just a short simmer, then off the heat. Now for the finishing touch: whisk egg yolk with sour cream, then slowly temper it with a ladleful of hot soup before stirring it in. This little trick keeps the sour cream from splitting 🤷‍♀️
That golden color? Pure magic — shredded carrots doing their thing, deepened by the egg yolk.
Best served cold or at room temperature. Quick to make, perfect for summer. ☀️

Cabbage & Mushroom Pie 🥧🪄

One thing I absolutely love about Romanian farmers' markets is the incredible variety of fresh and matured cheeses (cow, sheep, goat... you name it!). 🧀 The best part? You get to taste-test your way through all of them to pick your favorites. There’s zero chance of walking away empty-handed! 🤭

​The first pic is one of my personal favorites—perfectly salty and beautifully soft. Swipe to see it paired with homemade Romanian aubergine salad (salată de vinete) and smoked pork for breakfast. And let’s be real... there is no way I stopped at just that little piece of cheese! 😂

We planned on making squid stuffed with rice, chorizo, and veggies. But, mid-cooking plot twist... by the time we realized our frozen "squid" was actually small cuttlefish... change of plans! 😅 It became a rustic cuttlefish stew instead, and honestly? Still perfectly delicious 🪄
